  This was really great. I've never experienced darkness like when our guide turned off the lights in the cave. He was great. I wish I could remember his name, but he is the spitting image of Ragnar Lothbrok from Vikings. He was very knowledgeable about the cave and tunnel and made the experience much more enjoyable. We were there for just over an hour. It was definitely value for money. The lava tunnel was very beautiful.   Did the lava falls cave tour. It was amazing! Definitely challenging but felt so rewarding. Ankle support hiking boots are essential! It can get hot so a lot less layers than you think!

  Super interesting and arctic Alex is an amazing and very fun and engaging guide. If without kids would have definitely gone for the longer tour all the way into the cave :)

  My family 5 adults/3 children (8,10,11) and I took the one hour tour. It was an amazing and educational experience! All ages enjoyed the experience. Dress warm and wear good boots. The trail is rocky in places to give you the real experience. The lighting gives some great pictures. We highly recommend this tour.

  We had a great tour with Franziska who was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience very interesting (she also went out of her way to provide a personalized list of recommendations to help us enjoy our last night after the tour which we really appreciated). We weren't expecting too much, just a quick stop on our road trip back to Reykjavík on our last day but we were very impressed. There was a lot more to the tour then we initially expected. Without spoiling too much the tour not only goes in depth about how the tunnel forms, the rocks inside, and what they tell us about the tunnels creation, but it also touched on the surprisingly interesting history of people travelling into the tunnel, rescue missions, and some very interesting research investigations the Lava Tunnel is currently assisting. It certainly changed how we looked a lava fields for the remainder of the trip and became a talking point several times after. Also, for anyone wondering the Gin in the casks in the tunnel is actually quiet nice (although we are by no means Gin experts). I don't typically drink Gin but I definitely wish I picked up a bottle while I was there.

  Mum & I loved our evening visit to the tunnel. I was worried it would be too much for her, but she did a great job of getting around despite her dodgy knees & the difficult terrain. Massive thanks to guide Isla who was so helpful & knowledgable. She was a brilliant guide & taught us all so much about the nature of the tunnel & Iceland. Well done!

  What a great experience this was, we all thoroughly enjoyed this and were extremely lucky that there were only 3 of us on the tour, the lady that took us was very informative but not too serious (keeping it at our level) really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend

• Very Cool Lava Tunnel Experience

  What a cool experience! The tunnel is huge and the different colours inside the tunnel are beautiful. Our guide, Dmitris, was extremely knowledgeable and also very funny. I highly recommend this tour.

• Iceland is a wonderful country to visit

  My wife wanted to see the Northern Lights and we chose Iceland as the place to where we would have the best chance to see them. We booked two tours while we were there. The first was a night tour with Orvar of Iceland Premium Tours, to see the Aura borealis. However, cloudy skies and rain the first two nights prevented us from seeing the Lights but Orvar explained that the sun storms were very rare at that time and convinced to try one more night and on that night we saw amazing displays of colors including green /blues and very rare bright red lights. Orvar was a delight with his knowledge of Iceland's history, geology and the wonderful fly fishing throughout the country. Our second tout was a walking food tour to various spots in Reykjavik. Our guide Pauli, from "Your Friend In Reykjavik" did a great job of escorting us and six others to restaurants serving traditional Icelandic foods. He explained the traditions and history of each of the foods and answered all our questions while entertaining us with his many personal stories about his life as a fisherman. All in all Iceland is a wonderful place to visit.
