We enjoyed it very much. Josias is a very good guide, He is a pleasure to talk to. He is very knowledgeable about the Amazon area downstream from Iquitos. Appreciation also to Pablo, our boat / lancha operator. I write to you from a different email address, because my rcn.com email address does not work in Ecuador or Peru. I enjoyed the most our visit with the Yagua family. I enjoyed their dance with us and would have liked to show them our dancing. We enjoyed the several animals, holding monkeys, sloth and anaconda. We saw river dolphins (1 time Gene, 3 times Jane). And the severeal white herons were a joy. also several birds, including hotzinga over the lagoon. And the hikes through the forest, which was neither hot nor rainy (since 11 AM). The lunch at the Cumaseba Lodge was excellent. Gene Fry

We arrived at Cusco late in the evening in winter, bitterly cold for us warm-blooded folks. We were greeted with a cup of legendary coca tea to help with the effects of the altitude. Next day we visited the town's central square, Plaza de Armas, with arcades, carved balconies and Inca ruins. We also visited the Santo Domingo Convent which was built on the top of the Temple of the Sun and still had remains of Inca Stonewalls. We then visited the Sacred Valley region and Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire. We travelled through breathtaking towering canions by train which utilized the "switch back" mechanical method to navigate the steep Andian mountain to Cusco. We then took a bus to Cusco where we saw spaces were houses were situated, terraced hills once used for farming and irrigationand the stine quarry. We ended the day in B&B called Inca Wassi, in a small village in the Amazon. Next morning we visited and shopped at the local market and visited a small waterfall which was close by before heading back to Cusco..
