Discover St Maarten’s one-of-a-kind underwater sculpture park, Under SXM, with the people who know it best — the creators, builders, and owners of the park itself. This 2-hour adventure begins with a short scenic 10 minute boat ride from Great Bay to Little Bay, where over 300 sculptures transform the seafloor into a breathtaking gallery teeming with marine life.
Your expert guide will join you in the water, sharing insider stories about the design, build, and installation of the park, while also pointing out fascinating sea life along the way. Snorkel gear and safety floats are provided, and optional digital underwater photos can be purchased onboard to capture your memories.
With three tours daily at 9am, 11.30am & 2.30pm and a meeting point just a 10-15 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal, this experience is designed to be easy, memorable, and stress-free. We guarantee you’ll always be back to your cruise ship or your sun lounger on time.

5.00We visited the underwater sculpture park in St. Maarten by boat with SXM, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The boat ride itself was smooth and enjoyable, and the underwater sculpture park was truly breathtaking. Swimming among the sculptures while surrounded by fish and marine life felt peaceful, surreal, and unlike anything we’ve ever done before. The two tour guides were outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain the sculptures, the purpose behind the park, and how it supports marine conservation. This is such a unique way to experience art, nature, and conservation all at once.

5.00Well organised. Good communication prior with clear instructions on where to meet and what was going to happen/safety etc on the trip. A short boat ride to the sculptures, with talk on significance of them, use of snorkeling gear and off you go. Water is beautiful and we saw loads of fish, a turtle and stingray. Great local initiative bringing back nature to the area. Well worth it and good price for what you get. A highlight on St Maarten.

5.00Very fun excursion! We were on a cruise ship and it was easy to get to the meeting place by either the water taxi, regular taxi or a 20 min walk. The guides were great and this whole thing was a great learning experience about the history of St Maarten and culture. These sculptures are an excellent way to create new coral and support marine life. Excited to hear there are more in other countries. We saw lots of fish and exploring the grounds was easy and the water was clear for us. For information only: this tour would not be for people who can’t swim or get in/out of boat. You jump from boat into water and use ladder to get back up into boat. They provided the masks, flippers and optional float device. It was about 2 hrs start time to finish which was about 45 min actual snorkeling which was the right amount of time to explore the park a couple times. They gave a nice orientation on the boat about the sculptures and how they were made and the map of the area.

4.00A nice family adventure. Only 2 hours, so very accessible if you do not want to spend all day on a boat. We thought it was a great way to learn more about SXM and the islands history.

5.00I did the snorkeling with my daughter. The crew is very friendly and gave as intro how the park is structured and sone tips for the snorkeling. The equipment is good and even something for anti fog is used. They also watch you that you stay save. We had enough time to explore the underwater sculpture park. The park itself i‘m very happy that i explored the sculpture park. When i to there vacation again i will go do it again.
