The Straits Encave is situated on the Second level of the Joo Chiat heritage shophouse. Guest must be able to climb up/down a flight of steps to the second level from the main street.

5.00Living in Singapore, I misunderstood the Perananakan culture so far. This is one of the best places to go to know Singapore. Take a picture in front of the beautiful Ferranakan House.

5.00I learned a lot about Ferranakan. I've rethinked the impact that Perananakan has had on Singaporean culture. Admired the beautiful living supplies. Every photograph is art. The guide gave me a delicious explanation, and the photo zone was well informed. If you are interested in Singapore culture, I hope you can hear it at the Ferranakan Mansion.

5.00Such a fun experience! The sraff were amazingly friendly and took their time explaining their culture and responding to all our questions. W3 of us ladies also played 'dress-up' which was great fun too!

5.00Amazing! This was an unexpected visit for me but I had seen it highly recommended in my guide book so you must book ahead to guarantee entrance. I did the kebaya rental and the staff were superb. They helped me pick an outfit and dressed me from head to toe. This made the experience even more different. Joan then gave us a group tour of this unique museum. Her knowledge and passion about this culture with amazing facts was so interesting. I then came back and had a delicious afternoon tea experience. This will be one of the highlights of my trip to Singapore. Do not miss an opportunity to visit here.
