5.00We had a great experience in Sintra. Matthew, our guide had deep knowledge of history of Quita da Regaleira as well as Portugal and World history in general. He was also entertaining with a good sense of humor. He also made good recommendations for places to eat to suit our requirements.

5.00Absolutely loved our experience in Sintra! First, Regaleira Palace such an amazing place to be. Mathieu, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful bringing up info of what was in front of us but also bringing up possibilities of what the owner was trying to create and the extensive work it took to create. Even had info and knowledge on the flora and plant life. Lots of history about the timeline and explaining the deep history even after the owner Monteiro passed away. We enjoyed this and would highly recommend!

5.00Sintra is a picturesque town, with a fairytale castle and beautiful landscapes. Matthew was our tour guide, very knowledgeable and charismatic, our vacation is memorable thanks to him.
Fantastic trip to Portugal, but most memorable day was in Sintra with our excellent guide Mathew.

5.00Unforgettable day at the beautiful Regaladia castle in Sintra. Mathew our guide explained in details the building of this castle and stories about the people who owned it. The inception well was extraordinary to see and walk down the steps to the cave. The background of the Templar beliefs with Dante's ideology intensified the experience here in the beautiful gardens of the castle. Mathew even made the "walk" up to the castle bearable 😄 If you only get to do one castle tour, I highly recommend Mathew for this one. It was great.

Why we recommend him: • Expert Navigation: He knew exactly when to visit the palaces to avoid the worst lines and maximize our time. • Deep Storytelling: Instead of just dates and facts, Matthew shared the legends and hidden symbols of the area that we never would have discovered on our own. • Personal Touches: He steered us toward local spots for authentic pastries and views that were far better than the usual tourist traps. Matthew is professional, witty, and incredibly thoughtful. Don’t visit Sintra any other way!

5.00Mathew gave an informative, introspective, enlightened, and detailed tour of the Quita Regaleria Palace & Gardens in Sintra. He conveyed the intent of the design in an interesting & humorous way. It was apparent the Mathew is very knowledgeable about the Palace & Gardens. He is a personable & caring man, who took great care of us. He made it one of the highlights of my trip to Portugal!
Sintra was beautiful and Mathieu made sure we saw as much as we could. If you have the opportunity, take it!

5.00Mathieu was extremely knowledgeable and very genuine. His grasp of the history and ability to convey so much in such a short time was appreciated. He also did a great job at helping us get the full authentic experience while obviously being an ignorant tourist. I highly recommend.
