For over 2 decades, I’ve been organizing tiger safari tours in Ranthambhore National Park, a place I proudly call home. Born and raised here among the tigers, I bring deep local knowledge and a personal touch to every safari experience.
After being picked up from your hotel in Sawai Madhopur, set off on a 3-hour shared safari at Ranthambore National Park, located in Rajasthan. Each safari is limited to one of the 10 available zones, based on availability, and offers the chance to encounter the park's renowned Royal Bengal Tigers amidst its vast deciduous forests.
You can choose between two safari options:
Jeep: A more intimate experience, shared with up to 5 other guests (6 people total).
Canter (Bus): A more economical option, accommodating up to 20 people in a shared vehicle.
As you journey through the forests, keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including different species of deer, sloth bears, monkeys, hyenas, and leopards.

Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambhore National Park, located in the desert state of Rajasthan, India, is one of the country's most renowned tiger reserves and a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. The park is surrounded by the ancient 10th century Ranthambhore Fort, adding a historical and majestic charm to its wilderness. Ranthambhore boasts a robust population of royal Bengal tigers (around 75 tigers in 1400 square km area), making it the premier and most iconic tiger reserve in India. It features a dry-deciduous forest, characterized by sparse undergrowth and shedding of leaves by most trees during the dry season. Among all the tiger reserves in India, Ranthambhore receives the least amount of rainfall, resulting in limited areas with tall grasses. Furthermore, the park boasts a well-developed network of forest tracks. Together, these factors create ideal conditions for exceptional tiger sightings. Ranthambhore is partitioned into 10 distinct zones, each of which is inhabited by tigers.

I went on a jeep safari with an Indian family, allocated by the organiser. The vehicle was comfortable and handled the park terrain well. However, the guide didn’t speak any English, just few basic words and hand gestures which made the experience quite basic. What you see is what you get. If you decide to book it, make sure someone on the tour actually speaks English.

I was initially told I’d be charged for the pickup, which was supposed to be included—turns out it was free, as originally described. However, after being picked up, I had to wait over an hour for the canter to arrive. I was the only non-Indian in the group, and unfortunately, the guide paid very little attention to me. Most explanations were directed exclusively at the rest of the group, and I was largely left out. Considering I was charged nearly double the price just for being a foreigner, the experience was absolutely not worth the extra cost. It felt unwelcoming and poorly organized.

Guddu outsourced our booking to his friend. We were in zone 7 and didn’t see a tiger. We only saw deer.
