We will walk approximately 6 to 8 kilometers during this tour, but not consecutively. The longest walk between two stops is approximately 20 minutes.

Central Acropolis

We'll explore this complex with you, it was built as the residential area of the royal family of Tikal, it has 6 courtyards, 3 of them have been restored, this complex was also probably the place to host to all the royal visitors that came to Tikal from other mesoamerican cities for diplomatic reasons. It has a palace with 5 floors and some of the lintels on the doors of this palace are still the original wooden lintels placed by the people who built it about 14 centuries ago and the wood is still in good shape.

Our tour of Tikal was amazing! Our guide, Jose, was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much information with us about the history of the site as well as information about the wildlife that live in the park. We saw so many birds and some monkeys as well! After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious lunch. I highly recommend!

Our experience (my son, my cousin and myself) with these wonderful people was unforgettable. Marlon, José, César and the other guy from Gem Trips whose name I could not remember made those three days among the best ever lived. With them, we visited Tikal , and then flew to El Mirador in helicopter, an incredible experience that I recommend to anyone interested in knowing a fantastic Preclassic Mayan city close to the Mexican border, including the most voluminous pyramid in the world.

We had the most amazing tour with Marlon. He met us in Flores and took us to Tikal for the most wonderful experience. His deep knowledge of the area and it's history was so exciting that we are still talking about it years later asking ourselves when we are going to return. This was the single best tour we have ever taken. If you would like to learn more about the wildlife and specifically the birds in the area Marlon was able to provide us with amazing sightings of animals hidden in plain sight. If you are looking to have a once in a lifetime experience Marlon is the person you should be speaking with.

Lucio (driver) and Jose Moreno (guide) were the best. They made the whole experience smooth and amazing. Highly recommended. Jose was very knowledgeable and always with a great attitude. He took great care of all of us, even going above and beyond. We would use this company again.

Marlon was an amazing tour guide. He took his time to explain things and answered our questions. He was also helpful in pacing the tour to match our needs. He made a point of leaving the place cleaner than we found it by picking up litter along the way. He cares about Tikal and the people he guides through it. Unforgettable great.

Marlon Diaz was our guide. He's better than usual. This tour is his business and he takes personal pride in his job and his country. He really knows Tikal and the Mayans. His English is good. He even picked up the trash of other people. He is very responsible about the park. He made an excellent impression on us. Tikal is a must see.

Marlon was very knowledgeable about Tikal and all of the surrounding flora and fauna. He arrived on time to pick us up The ride from Flores was very comfortable, and we were able to see the entire site, including climbing many temples. The price is reasonable if you consider the knowledge and experience gained. We had a great lunch, which was also included in the cost. We paid for our entrance tickets to Tikal online as suggested by Marlon and sent this to him in advance, which facilitated a quick entrance. He truly loves what he does and is passionate about the Mayan culture and the environment.

Exceptional tour. Our tour guide Marlon was outstanding. His knowledge not only of Tikal and its history but also of the flora and fauna was amazing. There was no question he couldn’t answer. Tikal itself is absolutely amazing and should be a bucket list item for everyone. I highly recommend this tour!

Today we toured Tikal and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Our driver, Lucio, was punctual, courteous and very friendly, which made the journey comfortable and pleasant. Our guide, José Moreno, provided an exceptional Service: always helpful, with great knowledge, very well prepared and with impeccable English. In addition, his energy and enthusiasm made the tour even more interesting and dynamic. Communication and coordination were impeccable. This experience is certainly worth living. Highly recommended!
