Jim was most helpful, and knowledgeable sharing his in depth knowledge of the emperor’s palace and garden. Then insight and stories about the history of Japan were brilliantly tied into the current Japanese landscape. We’ve been on at least ten walking tours in the last year and Jim’s ranked at the top. Highly recommended.

Jim was a great guide, we really enjoyed it and learned a lot about Japanese history. It was a fun and educational tour, and the surroundings were amazing, despite it being a cloudy day. Definitely recommend it! :)

Overall it was a bit disappointing as we did not even get close to see the Imperial Palace where the emperor lives. It was also too long for what we could see throughout the whole time.

Super fun energetic tour!! Loved learning about the Imperial Palace with Mayumi. Mayumis background in political journalism really was a benefit to the tour- lots of interesting history but also some analysis on Japan today & how the past reflects current culture!
