Explore the Scenic Beauty and Historic Landmarks Around Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi on a Bus Tour from Tokyo

Arakurayama Sengen Park, where you’ll climb to a vantage point with breathtaking views of the iconic five-tiered pagoda against the backdrop of Mt. Fuji. This picturesque spot is ideal for photos, showcasing the perfect harmony of traditional architecture and nature.

Next, Kawaguchiko Craft Park by the serene Lake Kawaguchi. Enjoy a delicious lunch (optional choices include Wagyu steak, Houtou noodles, Raw Salmon Bowl, or Vegan Curry Rice) before strolling along the lakeshore, where Mt. Fuji’s reflection creates a peaceful scene.

Continue to Oishi Park, known for its seasonal flowers and stunning views of the lake. Finally, visit Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba, a traditional village by Lake Saiko, where you can explore preserved thatched-roof houses and experience Japan’s rural culture.

The only drop-off location available is Shinjuku (Shinjuku station west exit)

All departure location options are shuttle buses leading to the last departure location, 'Shinjuku LOVE Object'. If you don't want to ride a shuttle bus, please select the 'Shinjuku LOVE Object' departure location.

Please be aware that reaching the viewing platform next to Chureito Pagoda requires some climbing (stairs)

This tour will depart regardless of weather or traffic conditions, unless you are notified otherwise by the local operator. Trip Advisor / Viator and your local tour operator will not be responsible for itinerary changes due to unforeseen circumstances.

In November, the tour itinerary will slightly change to make sure you have the best experience of Japanese autumn in the Mt. Fuji area! In fact, after visiting Lake Kawaguchi Craft Park, we will move on to one of the lake’s best spots for foliage, a colorful corridor of more than 400 maple trees creating a unique fall atmosphere!

Our guide will be holding the flag shown in the picture at the meeting location.

Please arrive 10 minutes before at your selected meeting point, as your assigned bus & guide will be based on that specific location. The guide has a list of participants for each bus & may not be able to accommodate guests who arrive at a different meeting point. Late arrival or arrival at the wrong location will miss the tour, & refund won't be issued. If you'd like to change your meeting point or unsure about the meeting point, pls notify us at least 2 days before departure for assistance.

The bus will be departing on time (no exception).

Please adhere to the scheduled time. We are unable to accommodate delays or wait for any reason. The tour will depart promptly as scheduled to respect all customers' time.

In case of late arrival or arrival at wrong location, regardless of contact prior to the departure time, refunds may not be granted.

Visit Kawaguchiko Craft Park, located by the tranquil shores of Lake Kawaguchi. This tour was a highlight of our trip to Japan! We were lucky to have beautiful views of Mount Fuji all day. Each of the stops were well timed and beautiful. Wear comfortable shoes as it is very much a walking tour. George was a good guide, providing suggestions and information for each location. The soft serve ice cream at the last stop was delicious - George recommended blueberry and vanilla and he was right. It was hot but there were plenty of places to refill water bottles including lunch. The Kobe beef shabu shabu was good and we would recommend the selection. Our one suggestion for the tour is to have a more obvious indication of which tour guide and bus is being used for the tour. Despite arriving at the shinagawa pickup 15 minutes before departure, we almost missed our tour as there were multiple busses and no clear signage to assist us. Luckily we were able to find our guide and it was smooth sailing from there, but others may not have been so lucky.

I am comparing based on my experience traveling to Mt Fuji twice by normal highway bus. So below are my comparisons: 1. It was unclear if I was waiting at the right place for the bus because there was no placard. There were multiple buses so it was confusing. We almost went home before this guy called us to tell we are on the right stop. This is not a problem with highway bus. 2. This bus did not stop by anywhere for toilet compared to a normal highway bus. I was tired because I booked this trip only because I am pregnant, otherwise I prefer normal highway bus. Instead, it was more difficult for me! 3. On the first stop which was Chireito Pagoda, the guide told us that there are 400 steps and we stop here for 40 minutes. It is crazy as many could not even attempt reaching the pagoda. The first toilet was far from stoppage. The guide did not inform where we could go the nearest if we wanted to after the two-hour non-stop drive. Please note that you will walk lesser when taking the train to Chireito Pagoda station from Kawaguchiko station and the ride is beautiful! 4. The second stop was lunch (11:45 - 1:45 hrs) at their restaurant which was just fine (I did not like my food, some may). If you refuse the lunch option, there are no restaurants nearby to try. So you are forced to have lunch as the stoppage is tooo long! 5. The next stop Oishi Park had a stoppage of 50 min, and it was just when the Mt Fuji started to become visible. We wanted to sit a bit but 50 min is too less for that place. Enjoy at leisure if you take a normal EV bus to Oishi from Kawaguchiko station. Its an easy one day pass. 6. The last stop was Sato village (45 min), about which the guide had lesser information than I do. In sum, I would not prefer to book this trip if it is all about having a long lunch at their restaurant, and a brief or quick views of other good places. They say that lake is near the restaurant which is true but the views are not so fantastic. But you can sit beside the water.

We had a great time on this tour. Our guide Mitsuko was really knowledgeable and happy to give us tips on best places to eat, what to try and what to look for. We were able to enjoy great views of Mt Fuji, Lake Kawaguchiko and Iyashinosato. It was a great day trip.

Highly recommend! You take a tour bus to various sites and the tour guide was extremely nice and helpful. She told us where to take our pictures and was very informative. So glad we took this tour as we got to finally see Mt. Fuji and explore small towns we would normally never visit without a local and guide. It’s also peaceful, relaxing and green. Highly recommend for a great day out in nature and for great picture and memories.

This is a tour that requires climbing stairs or quite steep slopes at the first stop. But it was an enjoyable tour and different to view Mt Fuji. Unfortunately the day I visited Fuji was covered in clouds which is hard to predict. Our guide George was very knowledgeable and organized.
