Hello! We are “Exploring Tokyo”! All of our guides are born and raised in Tokyo, offering you a fully private and exclusive tour. This is the perfect introduction to Tokyo. After booking, we’ll contact you within two weeks of your tour to create a customized itinerary based on your interests. With a private guide, you won’t be tied to a fixed route or shuffled around in a big group — instead, you’ll explore efficiently, blend in with locals, and truly experience the city. Your guide will share insights beyond any guidebook, showing you both Tokyo’s rich history and its modern highlights. Popular spots may include Shinjuku Gyoen, the world-famous Shibuya Crossing, and more. We’ll mainly use public transportation, so please have some yen ready.
Imperial Palace
This tour does not include access to the inside of the Imperial Palace. Entry is limited to certain public areas. The current Imperial Palace is located on the former site of Edo Castle, a vast park surrounded by moats and impressive stone walls in the middle of Tokyo, just a short walk from Tokyo Station. Today, it serves as the residence of Japan’s Imperial Family. The scenery is stunning, and it provides a refreshing contrast to the busy city streets nearby. The spacious gardens and wide open spaces create a calm, peaceful atmosphere. Please keep in mind that the park is quite large, with a number of slopes and inclines, so some walking can be a little tiring.

5.00Thanks to our amazing, sweet, knowledgeable, and ultra-friendly guide, Toko, we were able to see some of Tokyo’s most iconic landmarks. She thoughtfully customized the tour around our specific interests, even though the locations were spread far apart — and somehow she made everything run seamlessly and efficiently. She gave us plenty of time to enjoy each stop and showed endless patience in answering all of our questions. We traveled mostly by subway and still managed to walk over 22,000 steps! It was an incredibly enjoyable and memorable experience, and the service was truly second to none, from the booking process all the way to the final stop

5.00I had a 23-hour layover in Tokyo and wanted to make the most of it and I’m so glad I booked this tour! Toko and Yuta were fantastic guides. They took me to historic areas and shopping districts and even found a lantern shop for me! They went above and beyond. It was so great to have local guides so show me around with such a short time to see things. I will definitely be giving them a call next time I’m in Tokyo!

5.00Megumi was amazing!! she was incredibly knowledgeable about Tokyo’s history, landmarks, and culture. Taking the train and subway was a great way to experience the city like locals, and we even stopped for refreshments and some fun shopping in Akihabara along the way. Everything felt smooth, relaxed, and well paced. It was such an awesome and memorable experience, and we’re so glad we chose this tour!

My guide Toko prepared my itinerary based on my interests and wish list prior to my arrival into Tokyo and communication was excellent throughout this process. Toko and her assistant Yuta were a joy to spend time with, very friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we went to. It was very handy for someone to show me basics at the stations like explaining the train lines and purchasing tickets. The company I booked through also didn't penalise me by charging double for being a solo client (many other operators quoted me double!) A great way to start any trip in an unknown city to set you up for the rest of your stay.

5.00Mr. Doko was really the best! He brought me all the places I wanted to go, and in a short time I was able to enjoy Tokyo properly with a complete and satisfying course. The coastline was so well drawn that it was not difficult to move, and the explanation was friendly and comfortable throughout the trip. Thanks to it, I only make a lot of good memories of Tokyo. I really would recommend it to those considering a trip to Tokyo!

5.00I wish this tour was available on my first day in Tokyo. My guide Toko set me up for success on teaching me how to use the metro system, and customized our tour based on what I was interested in. I wished I couldn't have taken with me all day!!!!

5.00We had a wonderful experience with our guide Toko. She customized the tour based on our interests and made local culture come to life. We saw more than I thought was possible within the time we had, and she selected a great mix of historical and current places to visit. She was patient with our shopping and pointed out the shops with the best quality and best prices as well. I really recommend this tour, it was a great way to get on overview of the city and learn how to navigate it right on our first day.
