We had such a fantastic time on this family food tour! Kaho was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about Japanese food. We wandered through hidden backstreets and local markets we would never have found on our own. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting an authentic (and very tasty!) experience in Ueno.

Nana was soooooo fun! She taught us lots of things and took us to wonderful places for food. She made the tour interesting, delicious, and easy going. I’ve done a lot of food tours in different countries and this was the best one. I wasn’t stuffed after, but I was extremely content and full. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone. Again cannot stress enough how special Nana was. Learning about her was what made the tour extra memorable.

I had the pleasure of being the only person booked on the tour with Nana that particular night and it was great! She is so kind and knowledgeable, I really enjoyed my time with her. She definitely knows the go to places on Ueno....the chicken ramen is to die for! She also helped me purchase my shinkansen ticket too. Thank you so much for a great experience Nana 😊

This was by far the best food tour. 10/10. Nana was amazing. Super friendly, knowledge, and helpful. We went to the best goyza, susi, ramen, and yakatori places. All very local, all delicious. Perfect amount of time (3hrs) . Ueno is such a cute little part of Tokyo that’s not that busy. Perfect perfect perfect.

Our guide, Tatsuya, offered us a relaxed, friendly, interesting and delicious tour of Ueno street eats. A most enjoyable few hours eating our way in venues we probably wouldn’t venture into on our own due to a lack of local knowledge and language. Tatsuya was a great companion who even offered us advice on places to eat in towns we will be visiting later in our trip. Highly recommend this food tour as a good introduction to Japanese / Ueno dining like a local.

The Ueno local food tour with Kaho was really worth it! It was so cool to be able to go to traditional food spots that I would not even have noticed or that I would have been too intimidated to go to by myself. The variety of food is really good and sufficient! Kaho was really nice and answered all questions about Japanese culture, habits and traditions which was really interesting. It helps to learn more about the « real » Japan/Tokyo and how it’s really like to live there as a local. Thanks a lot Kaho, it was great to discuss cultural differences and to get to know you :) I recommend this tour!

I joined a food tour in Tokyo and it was an amazing experience! We tried four authentic Japanese dishes – all of them were absolutely delicious and served in a wonderful local atmosphere. Our guide Tatsuya was outstanding: he speaks excellent English, which made everything easy and enjoyable. It wasn’t just about the food – we also had great small talk, which made the tour feel very personal. On top of that, he was incredibly helpful and even assisted me with buying a subway ticket so I could find my way back without any problems. A truly fantastic experience that I can highly recommend!
