One way transfers from the end point (Ketetahi) to the start of the Crossing (Mangatepopo). Free, secure all day parking. This is the popular hassle free and cheapest option if you have your own car. You will do the 6-8 hour hike back to your car in the car park which is located a short walk from the end of the Tongariro Crossing. No need for afternoon shuttle transfers. Bookings: DOC require all visitors to book/notify in advance, (free of charge) if you are walking the TAC. Head to the DOC website for more information and to complete the form. This needs to be done prior to departure and preferably before you book a shuttle. You will need to show proof to the driver.

5.00Excellent service, very helpful and informative driver. Gave plenty of useful advice. We liked the fact we left our car in a (large, secure) Carpark at the end of the route and were then driven to the start mean we were not under pressure to return for a set time.

5.00Well organized parking instruction, plenty of space in the parking lot and fast transfer. Lists are handed out on which you leave contact details and license plates so that you can check if and who is still on the mountain when a car is still in the parking lot in the evening. Everyone was in a great mood and put you in the right mood for a long hike!

5.00Great service, on time and efficient. Lovely staff , both on the shuttle and in the customer service. Our shuttle was cancelled due to bad weather, but it was very easy to move it to another day for the same discounted rate we had payed on TripAdvisor weeks before. Highly recommendable, we would definetely repeat

5.00All of the staff at this shuttle are extremely kind and friendly, and our driver was very knowledgable. I would definitely recommend them! The carpark can be a little difficult to find - if you end up going down a long gravel driveway with no staff there you have gone the wrong way. They are situated on the same side of the road as the brown sign.
