Valley of the Kings

Used as a burial chamber for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, Discovered by Howards Carter in an excavation expedition in 1922, one of the most important tombs found in the Valley of the Kings is the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun and all of his treasures. The Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor. It is the most famous site for having unique collections of tombs and breathtaking ancient ruins.
Colossi of Memnon

We had a trip of a lifetime! We had good guides and had a minimum of the hassle we were warned about. We also realized that the tipping culture in Egypt is very different from many places we hv been to : borne out of their economic circumstances. Moreover, our guides shielded us from a lot of the ugliness of the hustling. It made our visit a lot more pleasant. Strongly recommend Latiff and his team! Some tips: 1. Even for our family with adult children, 4 consecutive days of ancient Egypt sites in the Luxor Aswan and Abu Simbel areas is bit much. We would hv prob enjoyed a 1-2 day break to the Red Sea. We were told it’s maybe 3-4 hr drive from Luxor? Something I would hv tried to work in if I had known. 2. If you want to take a nile cruise, a good way might be to fly all the way to Abu simbel and cruise back to Aswan or even Luxor. But you need to budget enough days to do so. Work this out before booking your flights. (We didn’t and we couldn’t do the Nile cruise. )

Did the Cairo bit with a focus on Pyramids at Giza, including visit same day to Saqqara and New National Museum. All followed by domestic flights for a deluxe 4 night cruise from Luzor to Aswan (recommend Movenpick Royal Lily - great staff) and a day return flight visit to Abu Simbel. All with Deluxe Tours Egypt, to cover a 7 day period in December and all tours conducted on a private basis as per my request. Simply outstanding ! I needed to add in some family members at the last minute for the Cairo bit - no problem. Flights back to Cairo from Aswan amended after a short discussion - again without a problem and this made the tour much more flexible to our needs. Tour guides were by and large, very good. Standouts being the energetic but highly observant guide in Cairo for that long day trip and the slightly eccentric but very knowledgeable Dr Mohammed in Luxor. Overall very glad to have met and been led by such fine individuals. Felt safe and fed about the right level of information, without too much excessive focus. Drivers also sensible and safe. Mr Latif is the main man at Deluxe and he is brilliant. He personally did all the transfers in Cairo, was fun to talk to and receptive to ideas. Helpful and remained very contactable via WhatsApp throughout the tour. So we never felt alone or abandoned once money paid. I sought quotations from three tour companies and Deluxe was the best all around. Very glad we used them. 5*****. I would highly recommend them.

I generally prefer to travel without a guide but I'd primarily traveled in places I'm culturally and linguistically more familiar with - Egypt could've been intense and confusing but Deluxe Tours planning and expertise made things smooth and stress free. We saw everything we imagined and more. Our guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and helped us navigate the complex and unfamiliar history, society, markets and traffic with ease. With this much to coordinate and so many people involved, at times plans changed as circumstance/opportunity allowed or required - everything was handled professionally with our preferences and experience in mind. I'd highly recommend this tour, particularly if it's your first time going to Egypt.

The train journey to Luxor and Aswan was a delightful way to witness the stunning landscapes along the Nile River while soaking in the local essence. Luxor's ancient temples and the mystical Valley of the Kings were awe-inspiring, painting a vivid picture of Egypt's glorious past. In Aswan, the tranquil ambiance and the exquisite Philae Temple were a serene contrast to the bustling cities, providing a serene retreat into history and spirituality. The optional visit to Abu Simbel showcased the monumental achievement of ancient Egyptian architecture and was a highlight of the trip, despite the extra travel involved. While train travel offered efficient connectivity between these captivating destinations, the longer travel durations might tire some travelers, yet the overall experience surpassed any exhaustion.
