We booked the trip as a private tour. Julio our guide proved to be a pro. He shared a lot of knowledge on the Inca heritage, he knows about the flora and fauna and had the staff well organized. His English is top notch. If you are looking for an educative outdoor activity that is a little bit of a physical challenge and you want to learn on the way and still call it a vacation give Julio a chance!

Not a single bad moment the entire time (apart from the unavoidable mosquitos along the trail at times but you get this with every tour!) Smaller groups than all of the other tours I saw which I personally preferred. There were only 5 of us + our guide (Julio). Julio was the absolute best. He knew all the best spots to go to along the way, as well as the best times to get to them to avoid big crowds and see the best sights that I know people doing other tours missed out on. He was also able to give really interesting and in-depth answers to all the questions I had - even stuff that wouldn’t be common knowledge for other guides. Such a brilliant and genuine person. We actually ended up doing rainbow mountain with him afterwards too as he was so great. The Inca jungle trek is slightly less intense in terms of the hiking compared to the Salkantay for example (although it’s still challenging) as it is more activity based than other tours which I loved. Mountain biking was a great start and completely downhill so could hit some good speeds if you wanted while seeing some incredible views. The water rafting was one of my favourite parts. Zip lining was also brilliant - the lines were huge - much bigger and higher up than I expected. Could barely see the people once they arrived to the other side of the line. You also picked up some pretty rapid speeds and could do them in different positions which was a laugh. Then the hot springs were a great way to relax after a lot of activities and walking. Then obviously Machu Picchu itself was incredible and we definitely had the best circuit as we got to go to the best viewpoints and see pretty much everything. Also get to stay in nice accommodation every night! I can’t recommend this tour enough!!
