  Ryan Hamilton was an amazing tour guide. We learned about Uruguay, Uruguayan wine country, and many other interesting things from his travels. If you are in Uruguay, book Ryan. You won’t regret it! He took us to an amazing winery: Spinoglio! It was like visiting friends and the wine was amazing. You cannot go wrong. Book your trip now!

  This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even before we arrived, Ryan was incredibly communicative about our tour and sent a ton of recommendations for Montevideo. On the day of our tour, our lovely and incredibly professional guide Miguel, picked us up at our hotel and gave us a tour of the city on our way to the first winery. We visited two wineries and they were both delicious and memorable. Even though lunch was not included and the tour said there would be “snacks”, the food was plentiful and far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Montevideo who enjoys wine.

  Ryan arranged an excellent day to visit two very different wineries and Miguel was a wonderful guide, translator and storyteller who kept us informed and entertained. The hosts at each winery were gracious, hospitable, charming and obviously took pride in their wines. We also appreciated the peaceful country settings.

  Boutique tour with 3 participants and a tour guide. Organised with industry knowledge and appreciation of the quality of the wines made. A good contrast between the two wineries and wealth of knowledge on the history of the vineyards and their wine making techniques. The light lunch was perfect, the accompanying single bottle vintage Tannat wine was outstanding. This will be one of the days we remember from our S . America trip for many years! Thanks Miguel and Ryan.

  Ryan coordinated a great trip for our short time in Montevideo. He was really on point with tips on dinner and other sites beyond our booked tour with his company. We ended up booking 2 tours with him. One was a phenomenal 2 winery tour with Javier. Which he was great company. The second was a private city tour with Miguel. In both tours we were enjoying our time that they went longer than planned but we greatly appreciated the personal touch. I will end, booking with Ryan means a memorable experience and enjoyable trip in Uruguay.

  We were so lucky to find Ryan and the The Wine Experience while visiting Montevideo. We were last minute to search for a winery tour and Ryan was prompt to reply and invite us to a tour he was leading the next day. Ryan is a gifted tour leader, kept the group entertained during the ride to the country and is a great story teller. The winery Ryan took us to visit was exquisite, the wine wonderful and the food paring impressive! Ryan also was kind enough to arrange a subsequent tour for us the following day. Not only did he arrange a driver, he planned a fantastic itinerary for us and surprised us with an English translator. Ryan really understands a great client experience and delivers!

  Very good wines and pairing !!! Sarranz wines belong to one of the oldest wineries in Uruguay. Several Uruguayan Presidents spent their holidays in this wonderful place full of peace and tranquility; a few kilometers from the center of Montevideo. Pleasant music with a volume that allows you to talk in a relaxed and clear way; Service of extremely attentive waiters that make you feel like with a family member. Victoria, a phenomenon; referent of the place, helpful and committed to the guest spend a more than pleasant night.

  This experience was the highlight of our trip to Montevideo. It was phenomenal, intimate, and like being among friends. I have done many wine tours in California and this was second to none. Ryan Hamilton knows the wine business inside and out. You will get a real feel of how the process works and how it evolved in Uruguay. Don’t hesitate, book Ryan if you are coming to Montevideo.   We visited small vineries with excellent products, talked with the owners about their wine and about life in Uruguay. Ryan, our guide is a wine expert and gave us also outstanding gastronomic recommendations in Montevideo. Top experience.
