Bale Mountains National Park is suitably a walking, trekking and hiking area for hikers, culture and nature enthusiasts, wildlife watchers, researchers and more. The park is known for being home to the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, giant molerat and Bale monkey. UNESCO has estimated that more mammal species would become extinct were the habitats of the Bale Mountains to decline than if any other area of equivalent size on the globe were to disappear and, when this is combined with rare amphibian species, endemic birds and spectacular flora, it is easy to see why the park is designated as a Biodiversity Hotspot by Conservation International.

Take a flight at 11.45 to Bale Goba.Upon arrival, we will do all the requirements for short easy hike at the Bale mountains national park, Headquarter along the woodland part to see antelope families. Later late in the afternoon drive to Goba 45km from Dinsho for overnight stay. In the evening you will have dinner and stay the night at the hotel.

In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive to the sanetti plateau (altitude of the 4000metre the largest afro-alpine area in Africa and the place to see rare and endangered Ethiopian Wolf) and the scenery then proceed to Harenna forest via Tullu Deemtu (4377m) the second-highest point in Ethiopia.

5.00A wonderful and absolutely special place to go. A unique experience with nature. And our guide Mohamed - perfect English - made it even better. He knows everything about the area and with him we got to find 2 Ethiopian wolfs!!!! Big recommendation

5.00Excellent hiking in a stunning environment. The days were perfectly organised, food was delicious and varied and our guide very knowledgeable. The hike wasn’t too demanding but the altitude can get you and you should have warm clothes with you. We saw lots of animals and absolutely enjoyed the tranquility of the area. Very recommend. We did book locally though so I cannot say anything about the prices mentioned on tripadvisor.

5.00I booked my 3 day trek tour through viator which put me in contact with Mr Mohamed the designated guide for my trek. it was more than a dream come true experience. Mohamed made the experience exactly what I wanted it to be without even having to ask very keen and observant. 1 day was spent in the grass lands and the 2nd day spent in the mountains where we visited the Bale mountains waterfall which was truly the highlight of the trip. My third I requested to rest but Mohamed made sure i got to experience the culture of the community by escorting me to the airport on a tuck tuck. I would strongly recommend booking a tour with Bale mountains trekking tours Ethiopia. Such an amazing experience I will remember forever. Finally he's also a great photographer, he'll make sure you have ALLLL the footage you need.

5.00An excellent trekking destination with an abundance of wildlife. As an amateur photographer/film maker, I very much prefer to travel solo. However Mohamed, the guide, was very accommodating. He was patient, very easy to work with and even offered a lot of input of his own as someone who frequently works with photographers. 5 stars!

5.00Spent three days trekking in the Bale Mountains with Mohamed and it was one of the best parts of our trip to Ethiopia. Camping out on the plateau meant spectacular scenery, beautiful night skies and a lot of wildlife. We saw Ethiopian wolves, Nyala, hyrax, hyena and my favourite - the hyrax. Throughout the trip, we were fed wonderful food by the team chef, Awul. Everyone on the team was fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this trip to anyone who likes trekking and camping. A couple of words of advice - bring suncream and warm clothes. The weather changes rapidly as you climb! Also make sure your bag is waterproofed - when it rains, it rains a lot!

5.00We had an incredible three days in the Bale Mountains with our guide Mohamed & a wonderful chef, Awul. It was an immersive experience with truly incredible views, landscapes and wildlife. We saw and followed six Ethiopian wolves during our three days, saw Nyala, warthogs, hyraxes, hyenas & various deer. The Ethiopians we met and who were involved in our trip were unbelievably kind and hospitable, making our trip so wonderful. We felt very lucky to have got to do this trip & would so recommend it to anyone!
