This day trip will start with a brief city tour in the bustling heart of Port of Spain, Trinidad’s capital. Enjoy the scenic North Coast Road to Maracas Beach, with a stop at the Maracas Lookout for panoramic views and photo opportunities. Trying some local snacks here is a must. At the beach you can relax, swim or take a walk along the sandy shores, even taste the world-famous Bake and Fish. Next, the tour will visit the mysterious Caroni Wetlands. Slowly glide through the waterways in a large flat-bottomed boat, viewing various wildlife with a highlight being the roosting of Scarlet Ibis. A sunset in nature.

4.00The driver was also guide, he was more wonderful person than a guide I would say. He took us to all places need to see in the northern part of the island. Generally i found people in Trinidad and Tobago very friendly and kind! We had 2 hours free time on the beach and 2,5 hour boat tour in swamp included in this tour.

5.00Extremely polite and friendly guide. Great company to have. Good insight into the main landmarks of the city before heading to Maraccas Bay and the Karouni bird sanctuary. The guide went out of his way to explain the food and snack choices along the way to Maraccas and once there.

5.00The city tour portion was all within the air conditioned van. Very comfortable, but a little long. Our tour guide Junior was very thorough. The stop at the lookout for Maracas Beach was lovely- Junior educated us on all the snacks if you care to try, they are delicious. The stop at Maracas Beach was the highlight as the bake and shark sandwich was incredible. Spending more time there would’ve been great, but we had to catch the tour at the bird sanctuary. Junior then went on the boat cruise with us into the swamp and gave extra insight what we were seeing along with the guide from the boat tour company. It was beautiful, and we saw a few Ibis far away, but it was nesting season and so we didn’t see the true beauty of the birds as you would during other times of year. Overall great tour

3.00Driving tour around POS, and then to Maracas Beach, then to Caroni Bird Sanctuary. It would have been cool to walk around Port of Spain a bit, Maracas Beach is nice, but didn't warrant all that time. Loved the Caroni Bird Sanctuary at sunset, Flamingos, Scarlet Ibis and other birds. Such a beautiful experience
Bird Sanctuary is a must-see.

4.00The ride was wonderful especially the bird sanctuary is a must see. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience seeing birds returning to their habitats at sunset. Our guide is a very helpful and informative guide.
A great day out with plenty to see and do. Very happy we chose this tour to get closer to Trinidad history and nature.

5.00This tour gave us an insight into Port Of Spain centre, a food and swim stop at Caracas Beach and a swamp boat tour to see colourful birds. The day before, we had taken the Island Experiences street food tour with guide Khaleel. How fortunate we were to spend more time with Khaleel on this eight hour tour. He continued to educate and entertain us in his highly professional guided manner. Lucky us. The first part of the tour took us to several places around Port Of Spain. We’d walked on our own in some areas the day before. Now it was time to revisit and develop a better understanding of the history of this city and its well preserved buildings. We toured by car and made plenty of stops to get out, walk and explore and take photographs. We were off to a good start. The second part of the tour took us up and over the nearby mountains, pausing at several lookouts to admire the spectacular views. All this time we were engaged in conversation with Khaleel. We then drove down to a popular sandy bay that was full of life and, equally importantly, full of buzzing street food restaurants. After trying shark and bake for the first time, it was time for a swim. Even in January the sea temperature was very pleasant, as was the sand beneath me. A word about the waves…every so often on this day, the waves would rise up to around twelve feet high before crashing down. I’m used to such conditions and enjoyed swimming out through the waves and ducking down when necessary. After meeting precisely on time to depart the beach, we headed for a famous swamp and nature reserve. Here we boarded open boats carrying around thirty people. We set off in our boat on a somewhat dull waterway. Where were all the birds? Not to worry, later we turned into the nature reserve and there were the most brightly coloured birds. A magnificent and very enjoyable sight. All-in-all this was a very varied day with much to see, do and enjoy. So much of that was due to our wonderful guide Khaleel. He’d been a star during our food tour and he was excellent yet again during our day tour. Thank you Khaleel for your professionalism. TIPS - Do take your swimming costume to enjoy a swim at the beach - Rain can appear quite suddenly so do take an umbrella. If there is a downpour during the boat trip to the bird reserve, the boat guys will open up a large plastic sheet for the passengers to hold above their heads. It works but having an umbrella for when there is light rain and no plastic sheet is worthwhile. The boat floor can get quite wet so waterproof shoes are a bonus. - Take binoculars for bird viewing.

5.00We did the tour of Port of Spain, Maracas Bay and Caroni swamp boat trip. Junior, our driver / guide, was excellent, very informative and accommodating to our requests. The tour was interesting and even though it rained very heavily at start of the swamp tour it didn't ruin the experience. Would highly recommend the sunset boat trip to see the Scarlet Ibis, Flamingos and other birds. There were lots of websites to choose from but Island Experiences provided the most information and best prices.
