You'll learn the unique attributes of what makes truffle one the most sought after and expensive culinary ingredients in the world. Enjoy tasting dishes that enhance the aromatic properties of truffles. You'll discover our growing techniques and how we teach our dogs to detect the truffles under the soil.
Truffle pairs very well with a number of foods especially foods rich in fats so our tastings will include gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts.

Upon arrival at our Truffle Hunting Lodge you'll enjoy a truffle tasting while listening to an informative talk on how truffles are grown and why truffles are such a sought after culinary ingredient by top chefs around the world. You'll then be guided to the truffiere and walk through a biosecurity footbath and learn about the different truffle varieties that are grown at RedGround. Then we're ready to hunt for the elusive truffle! Follow along behind the truffle hunting dogs through the trees until they indicate they have found a truffle under the soil. You will see how the truffle is uncovered and assessed for it's ripeness and quality before removal from the soil. Why not try your hand at digging a truffle up yourself! You'll then be guided back to warm up in the Truffle Hunting Lodge and enjoy several more savory truffle tastings. Enjoy an informative talk on how the truffles are graded according to quality while lastly enjoy a sweet truffle tasting. Fresh truffles will be available to purchase on the day.

5.00The weather was against us but that didn't stop everyone having a wonderful day. Jill and Neil are great hosts and so knowledgeable - we learnt a great deal about truffles and their business. Our picnic hampers were thoughtfully prepared to showcase Redground produce and finish it all off great truffle wood fired pizzas finished with truffle icecream. All of this accompanied by Kell playing and singing for us f=during the course of the afternoon. Well done Redground!

5.00Beautiful hospitality, delicious morsels and generous sharing of knowledge and experience by Jill and Neil. The immersive hunt of finding truffles with Sarge in the lead followed by the fun grading session in the kitchen was hearty.

5.00See how the truffle is grown, harvested and prepared for use. Tradition meets science on this wonderful farm. We had the complete Oberon experience with a dusting of snow during our visit. Not forgetting Sarge the Kelpie who hunted truffles like a boss.

5.00Fabulous experience. Right from the start hearing about how the business got started to the yummy truffle food tasting then truffle hunting with Sarge the kelpi, truly amazing. Back to the Lodge for some more tasting plus champagne! What a wonderful time we had. Can’t wait to cook a steak with some of the garlic truffle butter on top that we purchased. Recommend you check out Red Ground, you won’t be disappointed 😊 Oh, and Jill and Neill are wonderful hosts 😊

5.00We were stating in Bathurst wondering what Oberon had to offer. An online search revealed this experience. We were welcomed by Neil and Jill, who were stunning. A short truffle show was given, and as we knew nothing about truffles, we fund the into awesome. Then followed a small tasting, which was again amazing. Off to the tree with Sarge (truffle sniffer dog) and we, together with two other couples, learnt how to extract truffles, after Sarge found them. Back to the tastefully decorated meeting hall, and more tasting. We had a artichoke, spinach and truffle mix, then followed panacotta, and a truffle ice cream. Really, all to die for! This excursion is a must for anyone visiting the area. Most fun we had in the Bathurst Oberon area!

5.00Such an amazing experience and fun truffle hunt. A very interesting and informative talk on truffles delivered by Jill and Neil, the owners of Redground. We learnt so much about the process from start to finish. Then onto the truffle hunt with their trusted dog Sarge… he was truly amazing sniffing out the truffles with such accuracy. We then each had a turn to dig out these little gems. Onto the tastings that Jill had prepared earlier, which were absolutely delicious. Thoroughly recommend this experience to all. A fun morning on the beautiful grounds of the truffle farm with wonderful hosts. Thank you Jill and Neil, we will look forward to our next visit.

5.00A wonderful weekend was had staying at Redground Truffle Farm in Oberon to go truffle hunting. We stayed in a lovely two bedroom cottage on the property with sweeping views, clear skies, stunning sunsets, oh and kangaroos stopping by. Truffle hunting with farmer Jill, the owner of the property, and Sarge the truffle hunting dog, who might I say nailed it every time, was really fun! Following our successful hunt we then went into the lodge to enjoy some delicious cheese, dips, panacotta and icecream which were all infused with fresh truffle Jill had prepared for us. In short , it was all simply divine! Thanks for a great experience Jill

5.00Had the pleasure of doing a truffle Hunt with Jill and Sarge the dog last weekend. The whole experience was wonderful. Jill and her husband Neil run the property and are so knowledgeable, I never realised how much is involved in growing truffles. The whole experience from the presentation to the hunt and then the tasting at the end was fantastic and I highly recommend. Jan Watts Dee Why NSW
