Colombo Port City
Port City Colombo aims to facilitate connections to the South Asian market through investment opportunities, international business environments, world-class infrastructure, and high-quality sustainable living. Upon completion, Port City Colombo will feature five distinct precincts: the Financial District, Central Park Living, Island Living, the Marina, and the International Island. The city will additionally encompass over 6.4 million square metres of new developments in residences, healthcare, education, entertainment, hotels, restaurants, retail, and commercial complexes. In May 2021, the Parliament of Sri Lanka approved the Port City Commission Bill to establish the Colombo Port City Special Economic Zone and Economic Commission. Under this law, companies can be exempt from all taxes, personal, corporate, excise, import, and every other tax for up to forty years.
Colombo National Museum
The museum is housed in a former Dutch prison, built in 1676, which is the only surviving Dutch period building within the Colombo Port area.[1] The building has been refurbished and renovated to accommodate the artifacts at cost of Rs 25 million,[2] as a result of the concept first presented by the Minister of Ports Development, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction, M. H. M. Ashraff. It was officially opened in August 2003,[2] by the Minister of Shipping, Ports Development, Eastern Development and Muslim Religious Affairs, Rauff Hakeem.[3] Various items of historical significance relating to the ports of the country, it's maritime industry and the ocean around Sri Lanka are on display. Sculptures of King Vijeya and other significant characters are also on display along with model exhibits of ships. There are also art works, and models symbolizing the systematic development of the Colombo Port and equipment used in Port operation during various times

I was picked up by a gentleman called Farsan who waited for me outside the hotel on the day patiently. He explained to me where we would go and gave me an itinerary and each place we stopped he was explaining the history of the place and gave me a good background. Farsan was also kind enough to take photos of me at the locations, and did not rush me, and was waiting in the Tuktuk whilst I was exploring the sites. He even made few extra stops for me as I needed to pick up some things and stayed over his duty hours. The whole day was very knowledgable and enjoyable thanks to Farsan who provided an excellent and professional service. I would highly recommend and do it again ! Many thanks for showing me around Colombo!

The best way to go around Colombo is Tuk Tuk. Faslan our guide and driver is very informative and knowledgable. He is also very nice to both me and son. It was raining when we go to tour and he prepared umbrella for us. We managed to cover alot of places of interests including to taste the Sri Lankan authentic food which is the rice curry.

I had an unforgettable experience exploring Colombo with Mohammed Faslan as my tuk tuk driver and guide. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole tour so much fun! Mohammed took me to all the best local spots — from bustling markets to hidden gems off the beaten path. The ride was comfortable, and he navigated the busy streets with ease, making sure I felt safe and relaxed the entire time. What I loved most was Mohammed’s warm personality and willingness to share stories about Colombo’s culture and history. He even recommended places to visit afterward. If you want a genuine, personal, and exciting way to see Colombo, I highly recommend booking a tuk tuk tour with Mohammed Faslan. Truly a five-star experience!
