The Tully River hosted the International Rafting Federation’s 2019 World Rafting Championships. This world class river provides a pinnacle rafting experience, with over 40 rapids ripping down through the stunning rainforest gorge surrounds. Classified as a Grade 4/5 river, the Tully provides one hell of a wild ride which ticks all the boxes for those seeking the ultimate Australian rafting adventure!
We have two Tully River itineraries, check them out below, which are exactly the same except for departure times. The Tully River is a Hydro River and we’re informed on water release, which determines when we run.

The Tully River carves it's way through the spectacular Tully Gorge, swirling waters surge over and around giant granite boulders surrounded by towering trees, climbing palms and thick rainforest which has dominated this landscape for a thousand years.

5.00I’ve been lucky enough to whitewater raft in a few countries and this by far was the most wiping experience. They have a huge team of precessional who can accommodate any skill level of rafter. Our guy Paul was an absolute legend. He was super professional and incredible personal. Took time to get to know everyone and really go above and beyond to make it a great experience outside of the already gnarly rapids. Most underrated day trip from Cairns and well worth the extra time over Barron Falls.

5.00Our full-day rafting experience on the Tully River with Adventure Group was absolutely incredible. The whole day felt so genuine – challenging in the best possible way, while at the same time we always felt 100% safe. It was insanely fun, and the guides were extremely professional and knowledgeable. We had such a great group, and I really want to give a huge thank you to the entire crew – especially our raft guides Paul and Jake, who truly took the experience to the next level. They were highly experienced, taught us so much, and created an amazing atmosphere on the raft. Everyone worked together as a team, pushing through the rapids, supporting each other, and sharing countless adrenaline-filled moments. I’ve done a lot of activities during my time in Australia, but this was without a doubt one of the most powerful and memorable experiences. Add to that the stunning natural surroundings and nonstop excitement – it doesn’t get better than this. Highly, highly recommended!

5.00What a great day! From the bus ride up to the start of the rafting where Pauly gave us a full briefing of the day, what to expect, what we needed, where to put our stuff etc, we could tell we were in good hands. Our guide was Rocky and he was awesome. For the majority of our group it was their first time rafting and some were pretty nervous and he was patient and understanding. He repeated the safety briefing and instructions more than once where necessary and helped the younger members with their paddling. Once we got through the first set of rapids everyone was feeling much more confident and we had such a good day! Rocky navigated us down with ease and everyone loved swimming down the waterfall. We would thoroughly recommend this to everyone, even if you are feeling a bit nervous. Such a great sense of achievement when we finished and my brother wants to come back to Australia just to do it again!

5.00I was there with 28 young people on a group trip. Had an amazing time, and haven’t laughed so much in a while, on top of the adrenaline. Had an amazing guide named Marco! Did an amazing job and made sure the girlies I was with, was feeling safe, Shared fun story’s, small talked and was just the biggest vibe. In the best way possible. Would 100% recommend!

5.00We had the best day rafting out on the Tully!! Hayden and Johnny are the best guides ever, they were so funny and knowledgeable. We felt so safe in their hands. Couldn’t recommend this experience more and I hope you get Hayden or Johnny when you do it!!
