✨ Step into the world of Turkish carpet weaving ✨ Weather too cold? Weather too hot? Take a break from the chaos of Istanbul and join us for a few hours of laughter, stories, and weaving. This isn’t just a workshop it’s a little escape where you get to sip tea, nibble on snacks, and discover one of Turkey’s oldest crafts with your own hands. You’ll sit at the loom and, with our guidance, turn colorful threads into your very own piece of Turkish carpet. Most people walk in saying, “I have zero skills,” and leave saying, “Wait, I actually made this?!” The joy on their faces (and sometimes their kids’ too!) is why we love what we do. We keep groups small so everyone gets attention, and between the weaving you’ll hear fun stories about Istanbul, Turkish culture, and the history behind these carpets. The vibe is always friendly and relaxed think tea, instant coffee, maybe too many snacks, and a lot of laughs. By the end, you won’t just have a handmade souvenir… you’ll have a memory that’ll last way longer than any bazaar purchase.

We had a very nice experience with İlker as our host! He welcomed us wholeheartedly and gave very clear instructions on the carpet weaving, while keeping it fun with some nice facts about the discipline and its history. He was also very willing to help us during the weaving, and provided tea, snacks and music. The end result is a nice piece, which is perfect for the time you get to spend once you get the hang of it. Also İlker’s recommendations for food and drinks in the area were some of the best things we had in Istanbul Thank you for the fun experience!

I attended this activity with my 10-year-old daughter. I was afraid it would be hard for her, but she did great and loved every minute of it. I appreciated that they showed us a video on how the larger rugs are made as well as showing us the difference with Persian rugs. The instructor was very helpful and his communication and service were excellent. I loved that it was a cultural lesson as well as an activity I could do with my daughter.

This was a great class! Both I and my 10-year-old daughter had a great time. The instructor did a great job of teaching us and also showed us videos on how larger rugs were made as well as showed us the difference of how Persian Rugs are made. He even gave extra time to those who needed it to finish their rugs. I highly recommend this hands on learning and crafting experience.

What a fabulous way to end my short stay in Türkiye! Our host (Ada - soz if spelling wrong) and leader for the workshop was very kind and patient. He explained some of the history of the designs - simplified for us to copy - showed us the basic steps and set us going! It needed a lot of concentration as is quite fiddly, but we all left proudly, with a mini rug! It makes me appreciate even more, the time and effort that goes into a hand-made carpet/kilim. Thank you- this was my favourite ‘experience’!!!

Thank you, İlker, for making me feel like part of the Turkish community! The experience was incredible from start to finish. From the communication before the workshop to the very end, everything was excellent. Even though I was the only participant, you took the time and care to turn it into an amazing experience, and that make it even more special. I learned so much from you and truly enjoyed all our conversations, your explanations, your ersonal stories, your culture, and your genuinely welcoming attitude. I felt as if I were spending time with a Turkish cousin who welcomed me into his home. Thank you!

It was a great experience. I went along with my friend, and we really enjoyed it. We definitely recommend this session if people are into hands‑on activities and want a break from walking—just to chill and spend some time. One side note: Hamza was very helpful and gave us great tips for food and transportation.

The weaving class was a lot of fun. It was our first time using the knot tying technique. İlier was a great instructor, helpful and very friendly. He ever gave class members transportation and restaurant tips. We’d definitely recommend trying this workshop if you have a free few hours in Istanbul.

We really enjoyed our class! Our teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable, his English was also great so no trouble understanding the lesson. The small group size also meant we got support whenever needed. We were sent very thorough instructions and photos prior to the class making it easy to locate. Enjoyed it so much we're considering it as a hobby, thanks!
