Located in eastern Madagascar, Andasibe (Analamazaotra National Park - Mantadia National Park) is a renowned protected area celebrated for its lush rainforests and exceptional biodiversity. As one of the country’s most visited parks, it serves as a vital sanctuary for numerous endemic and endangered species, including a wide variety of lemurs, orchids, and other unique flora and fauna.

The park is particularly famous for being home to the Indri Indri, the largest living species of lemur, as well as several diurnal and nocturnal species. Beyond its ecological importance, the park also contributes significantly to the local economy through sustainable tourism.

In this reserve, you will discover a variety of insect, reptile, amphibian, and batrachian species. You’ll enjoy observing colorful chameleons, tomato frogs, different types of geckos, bats, and many more fascinating creatures.

Vakona Private Reserve

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to observe several species of lemurs on the Lemurs Island, including the Dancing lemur, the Bamboo lemur, the Brown lemur, the Black-and-white Ruffed Lemur and the Red Ruffed Lemur. The visit then continues to the crocodile farm, where you can take a pleasant walk and discover a variety of aquatic birds—many of them endemic—as well as other fascinating animals such as chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, and tortoises.

V.O.I.M.M.A. Community Reserve

In the evening, accompanied by a local guide, you will take a walk through the forest of the V.O.I.M.M.A Community Reserve to observe nocturnal species such as lemurs, chameleons, frogs, and night birds.

Analamazaotra Special Reserve

In the morning, enjoy a guided hike through the national park to observe various species of diurnal lemurs in their natural habitat. Prepare to encounter the renowned Indri Indri—the largest living lemur species in the world. During the walk, you may also spot other remarkable wildlife, including brown lemurs, bamboo lemurs, the graceful Diademed Sifaka (often called the “dancing lemur”), as well as a variety of birds, frogs, and other fascinating creatures.
