Philipsburg
On your way back to the port or hotel, you can choose to end your tour in Philipsburg, the shopping capital of the Caribbean. This duty-free town is the capital of Dutch St. Maarten and features Front Street and Back Street, which are lined with shops. To the south, you'll find Great Bay Beach and the Boardwalk, which is home to a variety of restaurants serving local cuisine and lively bars. Philipsburg is just 20 mins walk away from from the cruise port, and guests can easily walk or take a water taxi back.

Full day Tour : This tour gives you a full introduction to both the Dutch and French sides of the Island. Its 5 to 6 hours tour.
Duration: 6 hours: Port Pickups will be at 9.30am sharp. Hotel pickups will start at 8.15am.

5.00Raj was an excellent driver/guide. It felt like you were visiting a friend taking you around his home island. Raj gave all the information about places and the difference between the two sides in an informative and friendly style. Local knowledge as to where and for how long to stop gave the best way to spend the time allowed for the tour. eg one beach was unsuitable to bathe so given a shorter stop to allow for longer time at a better beach. Would recommend this family run company for your visit.

1.00This was almost a six hour tour around the island. The driver rarely talked to us and we were a group of 19. He was a really nice driver who named himself “too cool” and this is nothing against the driver but more so the Tour itself. The Tours made two major stops. Two were a beach stop and one was a shopping stop. We stopped at a beach at 10:30 and we had one hour; however they didn’t start serving lunch until 11 so there wasn’t much we could do, not even order food because we didn’t have enough time. The beach was very dirty. Then we stopped at a shopping spot in Phillipsburg, but we were so hungry that we had to use that time to eat and didn’t really have time to shop. We went to Maho Beach and had about 30 minutes, which was a great beach. This tour is all rush, rush. We had one guy that we had to wait on at every single stop which put us later getting to the next stop. It’s OK if you’re coming off of a cruise ship and just want to ride around the island but if you’re staying on a resort, please do not book this tour. It was a waste of money and time for the two of us.

5.00Toured with Rog and had an excellent time. Learned a lot of interesting history and visited many places around the island. Local knowledge was evident. Bus was narrow for larger guests.
Very very informative about the history and culture of the island. I like going to all the different stops and scenery..

5.00Our driver/guide was very good. He was informative, amusing and approachable. We saw all the highlights. The van was clean and comfortable, the AC worked well, and the cold water was welcome after being in the heat.

5.00We had an excursion with Sunita Tours St Maarten and it was one of the best excursions we have ever taken. We got to explore both the Dutch and French sides, including Philipsburg, Coralita Beach lookout, Marigot Market, Maho Beach and Orient Beach. We enjoyed the tour guide's commentary on culture, landmarks, and local history with stops for photos and exploration. We highly recommend Sunita Tours for your visit in St Maarten!!
