We did the Oak Alley and Whitney Plantation tour and it was an outstanding experience. The guide/drivers were top notch, professional, knowledgeable, and made the entire day run smoothly. Both plantations were beautiful and incredibly informative, but the Whitney Plantation was especially eye opening. It presents history in a powerful and honest way that really stays with you. This tour gave us a much deeper understanding of Louisiana’s past and is absolutely worth doing if you’re visiting the area. Highly recommend.

I am an avid history fan, and I did heavy research on the different plantations and tour companies as it was my first time in New Orleans, and Crescent City Tours was the only company that offered DOUBLE plantation tours - I did Whitney with a live tour for the in-depth history of the plantation, and Oak Alley for its beauty and architecture. Both were so spectacular in their own ways and I learned so much! The team at Crescent City Tours were kind and accommodating and our driver did a great job keeping everyone on schedule for our tours (each of us in the van had a different combination of the two plantations we picked) - this would be a lot to take on for anyone! I would highly recommend Crescent City Tours and the double plantation tour (Whitney and Oak Alley for their contrast and diversity) to anyone!!! Thank you for making this trip possible for me and one of the highlights of my New Orleans visit!! :)

Seeing both homes on the tour was the best possible experience. It captured the history of the plantations in a responsible and thoughtful way.

We took this tour because we couldn’t decide which plantation to see on our trip to New Orleans. Laura, Whitney, and Oak Alley are pretty close to each other, but all about an hour drive out of New Orleans. So when we saw this tour where you can see two plantations it was a perfect solution! We went to Whitney and Oak Alley. Whitney has been turned into an educational monument to all of the people forced into slavery. The displays are well done and do a good job of explaining the horrors of the slave practice that occurred in our country not that long ago…. This part of the tour was unguided and you get two hours at the plantation. We then went to Oak Alley which is 1/2 guided (in the big house) and 1/2 on your own to explore the slave quarters and grounds. This plantation has a beautiful “big house” and garden. The oak trees are the star of this site. The trunks are 10 feet across the branches are so heavy they touch the ground. The tour company had planned it so that you would get lunch at Oak Alley first (not included in the price), and then take the tour. Because this was a fairly new tour, my husband and I were the only ones on the tour, and we decided to skip lunch, so Brian, our driver, was able to get us on an earlier tour group, so we didn’t try the restaurant at Oak Alley, but Brian said it’s really good. We appreciated very much that this tour company didn’t cancel on us, even though it ended up just being the two of us. They are trying to get this tour going, so I think that’s why. (I don’t think it’s standard practice to keep the tour going if it undersells). If you want to see the plantations though, this tour makes the most sense because you get to see more than one and it’s a long drive out of town. I recommend taking this tour! Brian, our driver, was also super friendly and nice. He explained some of the history on the way out to the plantations, and pointed out historical sites we passed by. Thanks everyone for a great tour.

I went during Covid-19 in November 2021, and I tell you it was life changing. It depicted how it was inside the house and in the fields picking cotton and sugar cane. I cant remember our tour guide but he was great. I'm trying to come back this summer to take my children. This one is the best tour I have been on and it gave me another prospective of how far we came. Everyone should experience this tour. Life Changing.

We did the Whitney and Oak Alley plantation tours and both were awesome! We had a slight setback when we first started our tour because we were stuck in horrible traffic and our tour got started several hours later than planned. However, the tour guide Brian was very accommodating and made sure we were able to still get the full experience. Brian is very personable and just has such a positive attitude, he was great to work with. He gave us all of the history of all of the plantation houses on the way to Whitney. We were in a smaller passenger van so the tour was more intimate and the ride was very comfortable. I would highly suggest Crescent City tours and seeing both of these plantations. Whitney is a must as it is all from the slaves perspective and is something everyone should see and experience. Oak Alley has beautiful grounds and a glimpse of what it was like living in the big house. They also have info and houses on what life was like from the slaves side as well. The restaurant there is very yummy if you are looking for somewhere to eat. All in all it was a great day despite the setback and the rain!

We enjoyed both Laura and Oak Alley. Oak Alley has a great restaurant where we had a great lunch. Our tour guide, Brian Webber, picked us up and treated us like queens. I would recommend Crescent City tours to anyone.
