At Byodoin Temple, you will admire the iconic Phoenix Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most famous temples in Japan. Learn about its history, architecture, and the symbolism behind the phoenix statues and the temple’s design. An admission fee is required to enter the Byodoin Temple grounds and is not included in the tour price.
Uji Shrine
Visit Uji Shrine, a peaceful Shinto shrine located near the Uji River. Learn about its connection to the ancient history of Uji and the role of Shinto in Japanese culture. The shrine is known for its rabbit statues, believed to be messengers of the gods, and is a lovely spot to enjoy a quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Admission to Uji Shrine is free.
