One of the best ways to know better the local traditions of the country is to try the national cuisine. On a cheerful cooking class in a local kitchen, you will not only eat but also learn to cook traditional Ukrainian dishes – borsch and varenyky. You’ll be welcome at a local apartment, where private class takes place. A friendly host will tell you interesting facts about eating traditions of Ukrainians, and you will get a bunch of positive emotions and new skills. You don’t have to be a professional chef to cook the most famous Ukrainian dishes – borsch and varenyky. Your guide will give you step-by-step instructions on cooking these tasty dishes. Firstly, you’ll chop all the ingredients for the borsch – cabbage, potato, carrot, beetroot, onion etc. While the borsch boils, you’ll master the technique of making perfectly shaped varenyky under the guidance of the host. The best part of the tour is when you enjoy a traditional Ukrainian dinner, prepared by yourself in a friendly company. Overall, this workshop is a great possibility to improve your cooking skills and learn new recipes that will make your relatives and friends understand your new obsession with Ukrainian cuisine.

5.00The ladies were wonderful. Mother daughter team are very nice. Daughter speaks good English and translate for mom. It was fun getting in there and mixing up the dough and getting to cut up all the ingredients for the borscht. The Varenky are fun to make and had three different kinds. When I come back to Kyiv, this will be on my list. My wife and I had fun. It is a must if you want to taste the Real Ukrainian dishes.

5.00I really enjoyed the cooking class! Even though I was not the best with preparing the varenyky, it was incredible to see the process of how both these traditional foods were made. I definitely left on a full stomach!

5.00Our private Ukrainian Cooking Class in Kiev exceeded expectations. Everything from the private kitchen in a local home, to the explanation of the ingredients, and the process of preparing the food contributed to the authentic experience of learning more about Ukrainian culture through its food. Our hosts were welcoming and kind, the food was delicious, and the entire experience was enjoyable despite our level of expertise with cooking. I would highly recommend this class to everyone, no matter your age or background, as an excellent way to immerse yourself in Ukrainian culture while enjoying good food and conversation.

5.00Truly worthwhile excursion, compactly arranged in three hours including the transportation. Also very flexible in scheduling. The class was hands-on for a small group (they hold a class for solo, too). Food is a full meal equivalent so do not eat before the class I now feel to have understood why Borsch has been loved by so many people for a long time. Home made one is distinctively delicious.

5.00Truly worthwhile three hour home cooking course, including the transportation and a complete meal. Tasty and healthy Ukrainian home cuisine, certainly to be replicated when I get home. Also was a good experience to visit the residential area!

5.00We had an excellent time with Olga and her family. She taught us how to make 2 Ukrainian specialties and allowed us to get our hands dirty helping. It was so much food and it was all delicious. A nice break from the city center and more touristy attractions. A real Ukrainian experience!

5.00We had an amazing time during this cooking class, the whole experience was really lovely. We learnt how to cook Ukrainian dumplings and Borscht. The environment was really friendly with everything being well explained and demonstrated. It was really lovely to sit down with everyone afterwards and eat what we had created. Overall a lovely experience which I would recommend to everyone!
