We are a couple, John and Romy, passionate about travels, nature and people. In love with hosting and receiving guests on board.
Romy, born and grown in the lovely town of Rovinj, deeply connected to the sea ever since. Daughter of a father with 6 decades of sailing experience, he thought her all the secrets of sailing and nowadays she is a professional skipper.
João or better know as John, Brazilian, warm hearted and open minded man, who has followed the path of love and adventure. He has joined family tradition enthusiastically and made this dream come true. Nowadays John is the captain of sailingpulpa.
The boat is handcrafted. Franco, Romy’s father, well known as Pulpa, started building the boat in 1990 as a hobby. He patiently and determinedly worked on the boat for 13 years until it's completion.
Today, Pulpa is still well preserved and has been taken care with love and passion. What we offer is not just a tour, but it’s a unique and memorable experienc! @sailingpulpa

We’ll cruise around the stunning Katerina Island, Figarola, and Sv. Ivan, selecting one island to drop anchor and enjoy a peaceful stop. Along the way, you’ll discover fascinating stories about the local area and history, and learn a few sailing tips and tricks. You’ll also have time to swim, snorkel, try stand-up paddling, or simply unwind and soak up the sun. To complement the journey, we’ll serve homemade tapas paired with our exclusive Pulpa wine, celebrating the flavors and culinary traditions of the region for a truly memorable on-board dining experience. 5.00Fantastic days sailing with Romy & Jo. The hosts are most welcoming and friendly, a days sailing around the beautiful coast line of Rovinj, taken time for a swim and enjoying the lovely taps and home made wine… the perfect day with our two teenage boys.. would recommend a trip with them.

5.00Without a doubt, the top experience we had while visiting Istria! Jo and Romy crafted the best day for our family. From coordination of boarding at the dock, to the sharing knowledge of the area and sailing, and finally, finding the perfect spots to swim and snorkel in the beautiful Adriatic, Jo and Romy are wonderful hosts. They felt like new friends! Their boat is beautiful and the local tapas they presented were delicious, including their family’s wine! Such a treat! Would highly, highly recommend this tour as it was small (just our family on the boat), personalized, and everything was so relaxing.

5.00Sailing with Jo and Romy was a highlight of our trip! We loved every part of it, from anchoring and snorkeling at an island, to the amazing Istrian tapas and their own production of local wine, to lounging in the bean bag on the bow while underway. Perfection.

5.00We had an absolutely wonderful day aboard the Pulpa, a beautiful and perfectly sized sailing boat for a family or couple. Based at Delfin Pier in Rovinj, this private sailing excursion was a highlight of our holiday. Our hosts, Jo and Romy, are a lovely couple; warm, welcoming and incredibly attentive throughout the day. Sailing with them was relaxing and felt special. We had the chance to stop at two different locations, where we enjoyed swimming in the crystal-clear, warm sea and made use of the paddle board. Lunch on board was a real treat with local wine and a delicious tapas with homemade and regional specialities. Everything was fresh, flavourful and beautifully presented. This excursion is everything you could hope for from a day on the water in Istria. We would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. Thank you!

5.00Amazing couple Jo & Romy! Experienced in hosting on a high quality level on their lovely yacht “Pulpa”. The day tour was really fantastic, leaving beautiful Rovinj behind us, taking the right sail. Enjoyed the swimming and diving. Last but not least their Tapas served on board are the best. We, my wife and all three kids really enjoyed the good vibes and relax mood on board! They start liking sailing. Mission completed. Thanks to Jo & Romy

5.00Thank you so much to Romy and Jo. We had the best time on your beautiful boat. We took the half day sailing tour on a hot summers day to a quiet cove for swimming and paddle boarding followed by a delicious tapas lunch with home cooked local produce. Jo and Romy couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly…. Fabulous hosts and with lots of local information for us. We would highly recommend you take this tour

5.00Brilliant day out with Sailing Pulpa. Romy and Jo were great hosts and skilled sailors. Jo took his time to teach the kids, both skilled dinghy sailors, about sailing this class of boat. The trip was super relaxed, the swimming and snorkelling was awesome too. The Tapas and Pulpa wine were lovely. Thank you!!

5.00We had the best day with Romy and Jo. The communication before the trip was excellent ensuring we were knew where we needed to be for pick up and everything went very smoothly from start to finish. Our hosts were so welcoming and clearly expert sailors making everything look so easy while we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful views and soaked up the sunshine. They had all the equipment for our stop-offs - snorkeling gear and a paddleboard and even towels for when we got back on the boat. The food was freshly prepared and delicious with cold drinks and homemade wine. Conversation was easy and interesting, our hosts clearly love what they do and it made the trip all the more enjoyable. We wanted a special, memorable, relaxing day and Jo and Romy provided the perfect one on Pulpa. We would definitely recommend spending a bit extra to get such a wonderful personal experience instead of going on a crowded cruise.

5.00My husband and I spent yesterday sailing around Croatian islands and Rovinj habour with Pulpa Sailing ⛵️ We wanted a special treat for our honeymoon and we were not disappointed. Romy and Jo were super friendly and knowledgeable, we spent the whole day our on the water, swimming in the sea and enjoying the most fabulous home made food and wine, book this tour for an amazing experience and memories you will never forget ❤️
