A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)
We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

Your exhilarating adventure departs from Dana Point, the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas, and the Dolphin & Whale Watching Capital of the World®. May through October you could see the largest animals on earth, magnificent Blue Whales. December through April you could witness the incredible Gray Whale migration. And throughout the year you’ll have the opportunity to see Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, sometimes Orcas (Killer Whales), and so much more. Several species of wild dolphins, some in pods numbering up to 10,000, are seen year-round. Upon arrival you’ll find free parking and a warm smile from our “Dolphin Deck” team. If you or one of your guests is celebrating a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, be sure to let us know when reserving so that we can arrange for a special greeting. Check in about 30 to 45 minutes in advance. Then relax under a blue umbrella and enjoy a sandwich, snacks, ice cream, cold beverage, or hot coffee with the best view of Dana Point Harbor, until you’re escorted to the boat. Nearby restrooms are available to use prior to boarding.

5.00Visiting from Wisconsin . The sun and warmth are wonderful, the ocean views spectacular. Capt Gary and Dae Lynn were friendly, enthusiastic , knowledgeable and professional. The boat was comfortable and clean. We saw 1 gray whale, back and fluke. We saw sea lions on the pier and swimming. We experienced a pod of white sided pacific dolphins swimming and jumping around our boat! The brown pelicans are a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing your California wonders with us :)

5.00I’ve done a few boat tours but this one is by far the best! Captain Marie was great, she located a big pod of dolphins and a few whales! First mate Alan was super informative and even came around to see if we had any questions at the end of the tour. I will definitely be back!

5.00We had an amazing morning with Captain Marie & First Mate Alan! We saw stampedes of dolphins, a humpback whale & sea otter catch a fish (which eventually became breakfast for some hungry seagulls). We definitely look forward to joining them again for another exciting excursion! 🐋🐬🪶 P.S. We were even treated to some yummy brownies at the end!!

5.00I cannot recommend this group more. Our Captain, Cass, was fantastic. We had a private experience to spread ashes of a recently passed family member & after he found us a HUGE pod of dolphins. This made everyone in our group smile & feel more at peace with everything else. We will definitely be coming back for future tour trips. I’ve used other companies throughout the west coast & nothing tops this.

5.00Spectacular morning where we saw hundreds of dolphins. While some might disappointed that the whales made themselves scarce, the day could not have been better. Under the guidance of Captain Cas and our naturalist June, we saw literally hundreds of dolphins including a pod of juveniles and their moms. It was truly magical. Cas and June are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Truly a magical time. A must see.

5.00There were 5 of us in our group- 2 adults and 3 kids and not for one second did I feel concerned about anything and the boat ride was comfy. Our captain (her name started with an M) and her helper Khloe were amazing. Our captain really did what she could to give us many opportunities to see the whale that had been spotted. We were headed back after a good amount of time spent looking for the whale when she slowed down and then turned around to go back because orhers on the radio said the whale was spotted again. With some good Valentines Day luck, we were able to see our whale better than we did before when we saw it, which was hardly, both times, but absolutely not complaining because we did get to experience seeing a whale and dolphins. Our experience wasn't like what the pictures are, but again, absolutely no complaints because all 5 of us really enjoyed ourselves. Our captain was amazing and again, her helper Khloe. Khloe was super knowledgeable and loved sharing cool facts. We are from AZ and will definitely be going again if we ever come back in the colder months.

5.00It was an unbelievable experience. Unfortunately, we did not see any whales but were blessed to see dolphins and sea lions. It does not happen very often that an activity is better than expected, but this one was. Shout-out to the friendliness of Kim and Michelle on the deck, Marie our skilled captain and Amanda our one-of-kind guide.
