A fast and fun wildlife adventure awaits your family aboard our zodiac-style vessels (rigid inflatable boats). This cruise of up to 20 passengers gives you a thrilling 2-hour look at Southern California’s year-round whales and dolphins. With speeds of 30 knots or more, you’ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! Your zodiac adventure will have you incredibly close to the ocean’s surface and within arm’s reach of wildlife. At the conclusion of your cruise, you'll receive one of Mrs. Capt. Dave's famously delicious Triple Fudge Brownies. (Some folks love the brownies more than the whales!)
We are a certified Responsible Whale Watching partner with the World Cetacean Alliance located in Dana Point, CA, the Dolphin and Whale Capital of the World®, and the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas.

Your exhilarating adventure departs from Dana Point, the first Whale Heritage Site in the Americas, and the Dolphin & Whale Watching Capital of the World®. May through October you could see the largest animals on earth, magnificent Blue Whales. December through April you could witness the incredible Gray Whale migration. And throughout the year you’ll have the opportunity to see Humpback Whales, Fin Whales, Minke Whales, sometimes Orcas (Killer Whales), and so much more. Several species of wild dolphins, some in pods numbering up to 10,000, are seen year-round. Upon arrival you’ll find free parking and a warm smile from our “Dolphin Deck” team. If you or one of your guests is celebrating a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, be sure to let us know when reserving so that we can arrange for a special greeting. Check in about 30 to 45 minutes in advance. Then relax under a blue umbrella and enjoy a sandwich, snacks, ice cream, cold beverage, or hot coffee with the best view of Dana Point Harbor, until you’re escorted to the boat. Nearby restrooms are available to use prior to boarding.

5.00Had a great time. Decided to go since I had time and the price was very reasonable. Small group since it was off season. The atmosphere was excellent. The passengers were all friendly and worked together well to spot the whales. Passengers shared photos and videos. Captain Jim was great. He was on a mission to find whales since he knew they were out there. He kept us out a little longer until we found them. We saw hundreds of dolphins very close to the boat and several whales in the distance. Kudos to the owners for providing signature brownies at the end of the 3 hour trip. Bottom line ...I would take this trip again in a heartbeat. Excellent value for a once in a lifetime experience.

5.00I went on the up close whale and dolphin watching tour. Captain Jim and Jeanette did a fantastic job of getting us out on the water and having a good time finding the whales. Sadly, no dolphins but seeing three humpback swimming together is hard to beat. I would definitely do this to her again.

5.00Our second trip on the zodiac and we saw our second dolphin stampede! Hundreds and hundreds of different dolphin species swimming and jumping around the boat. Incredible!! Our boat saw a whale breech and a couple of flukes before they went into their dives. Thrilling! Gary and Sofa (Hope I didn’t slaughter her name!) were very kind and knowledgeable and knew right what to look for to get us in the correct place. Thank you so much! You made a family from Michigan very happy!

5.00Captain Jim was a great in taking us out and giving us the best show he could. We saw a massive pod of dolphins in a feeding frenzy. A few far off whale sightings and he did his best to get us close. Not easy to find a whale in hundreds of square miles of ocean. Overall still a great experience.

5.00We had an amazing tour. The crew was great, friendly, and knowledgeable. We saw 2 humpback whales and many dolphins. To reach it, they extended our tour by an additional half an hour for free because we had to travel farther to see the whales.

5.00A really fun time on the water! It took a while to find the whales, as they had moved up the coast a little, but radio from other boats guided us to the spot. The whole while our boat was surrounded by dolphins and bird life, and to see the whales breach and lunge was unforgettable. First mate Jalen provided up to date commentary on the animal's behaviors, and did a fist rate job of being helpful and entertaining.

5.00An absolutely amazing and ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. We were really nervous about going on the high speed Zodiac trip, but honestly it was just incredible. Special thanks to Captain Matt and Daelyn for their knowledge, expertise and obvious love for what they do. We had the privilege of seeing five humpback whales and witnessed two breaches. Then we found ourselves in ‘dolphin soup’ surrounded by over 1000 common dolphins. Nothing was too much trouble for the crew and their love of these amazing creatures was apparent and infectious. We also saw some balloons which Daelyn managed to pull onboard. She explained how these can be a danger to marine life so please think about this before letting balloons off. Only negative thing about the trip…… we live too far away to do it regularly. Thank you all so much for a truly memorable day.

5.00A shoutout to Daylin and Matt for the wonderful day out at see with 5 humpbacks and a gigantic pod of dolphins over 1000!!! Very educational and this group is a good steward of the ocean. We stopped to pull out Mylar balloons along the way in an effort to protect our ecosystem and the beautiful creatures that live in our ocean. What a wonderful group of employees. Jordan and Michelle couldn't have been any more wonderful. We appreciate thier gentle kind spirits and were very helpful with any and all questions or needs. Thank you so much 😊 we will Be back to do this again in the future. Awesome brownies by the way 😂
