Enjoy a walking tour of Gibraltar's Upper Rock with an experienced English speaking local guide.
We will take you around the Upper Rock nature reserve as we walk up the Rock and along the way you will see many of the attractions that Gibraltar has to offer. You will see the military and historical sites, get the chance to walk up the famous Med Steps and you will also get the chance to meet some of our world famous Monkeys.
Please note we have listed the Tours duration as 3 hours, 3 minutes. This is only an approximate time because different people walk at a different pace. If you need to the Tour to finish at a certain time please let us know.

5.00Right from my very first communication with Stephen, he was prompt, professional and informative. We opted for a private tour of the Upper Rock - just my husband and myself - as our cruise ship was in port on a day that Stephen does not have scheduled group tours. We had a fantastic day! Stephen has a wealth of information to share about the history of Gibraltar. We found it fascinating and the hike was so much nicer than just taking a taxi to the top (in our humble opinion). Stephen took us to areas that our friends did not get to see on their excursions from the ship. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great day in Gibraltar. We have taken many excursions and tours and this was right up there with our favourites because Stephen makes it so personal and goes at your pace. If this sounds like the tour you would like to do, book it with Stephen - Walking Gibraltar - as you will not be disappointed.

5.00We were recently at Gibraltar for a few days and decided to take the walking tour, as opposed to a van ride to the top. The tour itself was somewhat of a workout, and lasted about 4.5 hrs start to finish. Stephen our guide was very personable, and was knowledgeable of the history of the Rock, as well as the the general area. He tried to tailor the walk to the wishes of the group, keeping in mind our varying stamina levels. The views were really great. One of the highlights was our close interaction with the Barbary Monkeys on the top. They were around us for about 30-45 minutes total, and were not shy at all. All in all a very informative afternoon. I recommend this for a up close & personal experience. But keep in mind the walk, while very doable, is exerting.
An engaging, excellent guide. Recommend him highly.

5.00Stephen was excellent, just as the other reviews which led us to book him, had suggested. He gave endlessly of his time, energy and knowledge, at just the right pace and timing. We recommend him highly and wish him well. A truly outstanding guide.

5.00Our personal tour with Stephen was awesome! His professionalism, knowledge and passion for the Rock was inspiring and insightful. Understand this is a walking tour up the Rock with many stops and views along the way, not to mention the numerous monkey sightings. Our Garmin watch indicates 127 stories of stairs! After watching all the tour buses full of cruise ships passengers pass us by, we felt we had the better tour by walking and stopping. Plus we had Stephen all to ourselves! He even mentioned where to grab an early dinner afterwards (Ocean) which was fantastic! All in all, one of the better tours of our trip. Highly recommend Walk Gibraltar!

5.00We had an incredible experience on our private walking tour of Gibraltar. Our guide, Stephen, was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Gibraltar’s rich history and culture. We were able to see so much in just a few hours. From the iconic Rock and the stunning views over the Strait, to the monkeys at the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, St. Michael’s Cave, and even the WWII tunnels – every stop was fascinating. Our guide provided just the right amount of context and stories at each location. A walking tour with Stephen is absolutely the way to experience Gibraltar. Highly recommend – 10/10!

5.00My boyfriend and I had a great time walking in the quiet paths with a breathtaking view of the sea. It was just the two of us with Stephen who was very kind and explained everything. We saw monkeys and the tunnels of the Second War. We did the most difficult “Mediterranean way” path but the views are worth it. Thank you very much again Stephen! Alessia and Simone.

5.00From the outset Stephen has been fantastic - responding to emails very quickly and politely. Throughout the walk he was fantastic and very knowledgeable He also listened to our experiences of Gib previously. I cannot recommend this walking tour of the Rock highly enough - a fantastic walk with some great scenery and a brilliant guide. Well done Stephen

5.00Really enjoyed this walking tour, we had done a lot of walking the day before so we were a bit nervous about managing this tour but it was manageable! We stopped in various locations to have a break and also learn more about Gibraltar and its history. Stephen was very knowledgeable and kept making sure we were ok. The views at the top are beautiful. Would highly recommend walking up with Stephen as your tour guide, he was really lovely company!

5.00Our Walk Gibraltar tour was amazing! It was great to have a local guide. We avoided crowds for much of our hike. Stephen gave us the choice of hiking an easier or a more difficult way. We chose the more difficult way, up the Mediterranean steps. Although it was a challenge for us, we were treated to incredible views. Stephen was really patient with the four of us because we were quite a bit slower than he was. He was full of information about the history of Gibraltar and the Rock itself. We felt like we got to see so much and learn so much, it was well worth it! We were tired at the end, but felt very accomplished! Thank you, Stephen for this excellent tour!
