After meeting and picking up the rest of our fellow travelers at their hotels, we will leave in our 7-seater 4x4 to our first stop: the train cemetery, a landscape formed by the remains of what a long time ago was a symbol of Bolivians development into a modern nation.
We will continue our trip through the salar and visit the Colchani salt refinery, here we will learn about the extraction and refinery process of the salt. Just a few meters away we will see the large salt heaps and the salt eyes and understand how the extraction process works.

5.00We got picked up from the airport with no delay. After a short wait we were off to the Salar. We had an outstanding tour guide "Nelson 5". He explained all the different stops history and Indian customs. We stopped at the train grave yard, Salt manufacturing place. The sights are spectacular, and after the a good lunch at the salt house in the Salar we went further into the Salar, for some incredible picture opportunities. I cannot say enough good things about Nelson Cinco. He announced at the beginning he was going to be our Driver, Tour guide, Server, Photographer and he was absolutely outstanding. He was so much fun while we were driving from one site to the next. And the pictures that he helped to stage are amazing. Sorry cannot post due to privacy. But they are spectacular. Nelson even found a spot that still had water, so we could see the mirror effect. We ended the night with a quick full star gazing. It was just wonderful.... Muchas, muchas gracias Nelson, for an unforgettable trip!
