  This is an opportunity to see and experience Valparaiso in a way that would be impossible without the services of a guide. You see every part of this great city and are chaperones on to all forms of public transportation in the process. Our guide Cata was charming and genuinely enthusiastic to share the city. She didn’t cut any corners and was very knowledgeable about the various stops. One of the best city tours I have ever been on having used aviator many times. If you read this review and don’t book you will have missed a great experience.

  We did the Valpo in 1 Day: Authentic & Famous Semi-Private Walking Tour on December 29, 2025, and it was hands-down one of the best tours we’ve taken in Chile. Patatour truly delivers an authentic Valparaíso experience, and our guide Felipe made it exceptional. He is incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about Valpo — its history, culture, art, politics, and daily life. Felipe shared fascinating stories you simply wouldn’t get on your own, while seamlessly navigating public transportation and the city’s famous hills and funiculars. The pace was perfect, the group felt intimate, and Felipe made sure everyone was comfortable, engaged, and having fun. He was also great at pointing out hidden gems, street art, local spots, and the best viewpoints for photos (which you’ll definitely want — this city is bursting with color and character!). This tour strikes the perfect balance between iconic landmarks and real local flavor, giving you a deeper understanding of Valparaíso beyond the postcard views. If you want a meaningful, well-organized, and memorable way to explore Valpo — this is it. Highly recommend Patatour and especially Felipe — we’d book again in a heartbeat!   Must see. No feeling of insecurity in the neighborhoods visited and advised by our host. Some places are to be avoided especially in the late evening, but if you follow the advice given there is no problem.

  Cristian made us feel welcome and showed us the city through his eyes. He shared personal experiences and took us to an abundance of different neighbourhoods using local transit.   Our last and only day in Valparaiso started out with a lot of rain. We requested our guide Katalina to start late until the rain let up. She was very flexible. And we had a wonderful tour when the sun came out. Since it was only two of us, she catered the tour for what we wanted, which was looking at graffiti, nice neighborhoods, and art galleries. We fell in love with Valparaiso. Even though there was a lot of walking up and down the hills. I would highly recommend this tour.

  Cristian knows his city in depth and has been able to convey his love for Valparaiso. It has given us a deeper view of the current city than the merely tourist one. The fishing area and markets that show a lively city should be highlighted. The city is full of charm, creative activity beyond the murals and has shown us the different local artists, along with hidden areas of their neighborhood. The food in the circular restaurant has been a success for the panoramic view and the excellent fish dishes. The tour has been full day and has been adapted to our preferences. Therefore Patatour is highly recommended.

  Amazing! I loved every minute of this tour. It was the best thing I did while in the Santiago Valparaiso region. The combination of the local areas and the tourist areas was a great mix and we went to a lot of places that sold gifts and artwork. I was the only person on the tour so it was a bit personalized.

  We LOVED our tour with Danae! If you are visiting Valparaiso, you need to take this tour. Danae gave us an authentic, local, and well rounded understanding of the city. It was cloudy and cold on the day we went, and we appreciated that Danae tweaked our itinerary to make sure we could still see all of the sights and make the most of the gloomy day. Riding along all of the public transit is a highlight, as it gave us a good understanding of the rhythm and day to day life of the city, as well as empowered us to navigate it on our own! Danae had an incredible understanding of the history of both Valparaiso and the art we looked at. The pace of the tour was great, and done well so you don’t have to climb to many hills or stairs! Once we mentioned we liked art gallery’s and music, Danae made sure to incorporate stops into the trip, introducing us to the different artists and store owners as we went along. It changed the trajectory of our trip, and I don’t think we would’ve come to love Valparaiso so much if it weren’t for Danae. HIGHLY recommend! Pro tip: do it on your first or second day in town! We spent the following days retracing our steps and revisiting the places she recommended to us, stopping to shop and eat and wander.

  Esteban, our guide was super friendly and could tell something about each building. He showed us very interesting shops and art in Valparaíso. He also told a lot of stories and historical stories about Valparaíso. He showed us corners of the city we would never have found on our own
