Our 2.5 hour guided tours of the Van Gogh Museum will allow you to explore the painter’s life and works with one of our vibrant guides. Entrance is included, and your ticket will be valid for the whole day so you can explore on your own after the tour.

You’ve heard about one of the world’s most famous painters, Vincent Van Gogh. But what do you really know about this Dutch artist? This tour will introduce you to the man behind the famous sunflowers and self-portraits that are featured in galleries around the world. See his work “The Potato Eaters” and “The Bedroom” as well as objects from his studio. Visit the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh’s works while learning about his troubled life from his days in Holland to his dramatic ending in France. And yes, we’ll discuss that whole ear incident. Depending on whether the artwork is on loan or being restored, the following pieces of art may include Van Gogh's large collection of self portraits, early and obscure works, objects from his studio, Sunflowers, Yellow House and Wheat Field with Crows.

5.00Our was well organised, relaxed, natural and friendly. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided a lot of context around the origins of the museum, the family and of course the artist! We were given plenty of scope to wander at our own pace too. Highly recommended.

5.00I had a great tour with Paola at the Van Gogh museum. She was very knowledgeable and spoke of not just his art, but his early life and who was an influence for him. I truly enjoyed learning more about the artist himself and his legacy. We arrived just as the museum opened so it was quiet and the tour was just under 3 hours which was the perfect length of time. Once it was complete we were able to walk around the museum ourselves.

5.00Our tour was with Victoria. She was full of information and took her time. We strategically went to the Van Gogh main pieces and she explain them throughly. Victoria spoke perfect English and had full of knowledge of Van Gogh’s life and art. This tour group was on a higher price point, but surely worth it with the amount of original work featured. The Museum is very modern and we would’ve been easily turned around on our own. We enjoyed it!

5.00What an amazing tour! We had Anna as our guide on a Thursday afternoon. She was prompt, kind and very courteous. Her smile is infectious, her voice clear and she is easy to understand and follow. Her knowledge of art and more specifically Vincent Van Gogh was nothing less than mind blowing. I can’t imagine the hours she has put in to reading articles and researching her subjects. Very knowledgeable. I feeling like this tour really gave me more than just insights into Van Gogh but art in general. Her comparisons of style between artist was amazing. She will leave you wanting more as she weaves the facts together leading you to your own conclusion about what really happened in Van Gogh’s life, his study of Art and how he became an artist with so many things stacked against him and the opportunities he failed. Ask for Anna and if you have to wait she will be worth it.

5.00Had the best time, and probably the most informative museum tour I’ve ever been on, with Anna! She is incredibly knowledgeable of Van Gogh’s life - enriching each piece with context and reasoning as to why. She creates a vivid story through art and history, and helps you answer the question of why Van Gogh is so popular. This is a must book! Also Anna is very communicative - reminding attendees of meeting time and making the whole experience so easy!

5.00Carola R was a great guide. She has extremely deep knowledge on Vincent Van Gogh. She provided info on each Van Gogh's painting and the significant events that happened at that time of his life. I learned a lot while enjoyed all the paintings and the museum. Even my teenage kids paid close attention! Thank you Carola. We had a great time.
