Disappointing Communication

Every communication I received noted the tour started at 3:00. We went to the pickup location at 2:45, then found out that the pickup was at 2:40 and the van had left on the tour. We finally got in touch with the operator (no answers at the office) and he told us that the pickup is always at 2:40 and he had tried to reach us but couldn't. Nowhere in any communication was 2:40 mentioned. We took a $20 taxi ride to catch up with the tour. The tour was very nice, but the same thing happened with our Pearl Harbor tour - The booking said the pickup was at 8:00, but it came at 7:00. Luckily he got in touch with us and we scrambled. I probably will not use Viator again.

The tour itself is excellent and you see many areas of interest in the city as well as stop for 25 minutes in Stanley Park and 1 hour in Granville market. Unfortunately our tour took place on the same day as the Marathon which created havoc with traffic. It took so long to pick up passengers at all the hotels that our actual tour started 1 hour late. This caused us to arrive at Granville market 25 minutes before it closed. We had over 20 passengers in our van to include a group of 7 women who talked throughout the tour making it hard to hear the tour director, Rodrigo. We waited 15 minutes extra for a group of passengers only to determine they had left the tour on their own without notifying the tour guide. Overall, in spite of the traffic and some rude passengers Rodrigo kept his composure, was friendly and informative. I would give Rodrigo 5 stars and the tour 4 stars.

This was my second time doing this tour. I did it last year with my friend. It was so good that I had to repeat it with my mother last month. Both times the tour was great and gave a good overview of Vancouver. There were stops to take pictures and a longer stop at Granville Island to explore. Weather was great and the driver did an awesome job with assisting my mother who had a walker. Would highly recommend.
