5.00Took the tour with Jan, he is very professional and speak clear and easy to understand. He will show you some hidden part of the Jalan Besar and get some hand on activity and also tried an unique dish. It’s very informative tour with Jan for the tour.

5.00I took Jan's Vanishing Craftsmen tour and would highly recommend it. I visited one of my favorite neighborhoods, Jalan Besar. Even though I've walked around this neighborhood many times, Jan's knowledge and relationships with the people in the area allowed me to see things I would never have seen and hear stories I never would have heard. It was nice to be able to go through old shophouses, witness businesses as they face the challenges of modernization and gentrification. Jan is very knowledgeable, has a personal connection with the area and if really fun to talk to. He even introduced us to a new-to-us hawker centre.

5.00Vanishing Craftsmen was an excellent walking tour of Jalan Besar! Jan, our amazing guide brought our group around to visit the vanishing trades that is still existing in Jalan Besar. We also got to interact with the owners and workers of these trades and get an insight of their daily working lives and history of their businesses. A wonderful tour experience that even local Singaporeans should join too!
