Our bike ride and tour of Versailles was very enjoyable. We met our small tour group and guide, Joris Cordell, at the St Lazare metro station and took the train to Versailles . We took a nice walk from the metro station to a large market and then through the streets of Versailles to a pick up the bicycles . A quick ride on city streets lead us to the grounds of the Versailles palace . We stopped at a few places on the way and Joris provided historical perspectives on the building of the palace and adjoining structures and his perspectives on Kings Louis the XIV and Louis the XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette . He also entertained with a few songs relevant to the tour. The weather was questionable so the group passed on the picnic aspect and had a nice lunch at an indoor location mid-bike ride . Joris provided us with all the tickets for entrance to the trains (round trip) , and palace and residence fees. He also provided us with directions for returning to the train station for our departure. We were left on our own to tour the palace (audio self guided tour available) at our own pace and to tour the town of Versailles before our return to Paris.

Such a fun day. Arnold was such a good guide and he really took time to explain all the history in an amusing ind interesting way. The tour gives you plenty of time to explore each place you stop at. The biking is generally easy, but it is a long day. The bikes have no gears so it’s all about the legs! We learned so much French history. King Louis XIV was a very interesting figure, as were the rest of the historic figures. Versailles is hard to imagine living in. And building it. And all that it entailed. This is a full day tour and THEN you go tour Versailles!

We booked a day trip to the palace of Versailles by bike along with a picnic. We started in Paris, 12 total took the train to Versailles from Versailles picked up bikes, then stopped at the farmers market for picnic supplies. Biked all around the walkways and pathways of Versailles, had a picnic and then ended at the palace of Versailles, where our host left us to visit the palace on our own so that we could stay as long as we wanted. After visiting the palace, we walked to the train station where we took the train back to Paris. The morning started around 8:30 AM and we arrived back in Paris around 6 PM so a full day. Tour guide name was Arnaud. Excellent guide very funny and informative and gave us just enough information, but not too much, thank you for a great day. We were there in early November so we had a little rain here and there, but the bikes came equipped with ponchos so we were OK.

The experience was beyond my expectation. Biking is definitely the best way to see anything in Versailles Palace and beautiful scenery surrounding. I strongly recommend our guide, Arnaud M. His communication was excellent, and he was both engaging and highly knowledgeable.

Arnaud was a fantastic guide, showing us around the grounds and giving us hundreds of years of history while keeping us laughing and well-fed the entire time. This is a great option to get out of Paris and enjoy some quiet time in a gorgeous setting. He also made it very clear when the group was near restrooms and water-filling stations, which was a big help throughout the day.

Our guide was terrific! The food market tour was really great, buying food for a picnic and then bike ride briefly in city before Versailles ground was easy. See grounds on a bike very relaxing and having access to the palace and other areas on grounds was excellent.

We had a fantastic time on our bike tour! Our guide was friendly and personable. He also shared just enough history to keep us informed but not so much to make it overwhelming. We loved shopping in the market for our picnic lunch. Riding around the property was amazing. We could not recommend this tour enough!

We had an amazing day doing this tour with Gigi! He had high energy, spoke excellent English and made sure that we were all safe and having a great day. We met at a Starbucks and proceeded to take a train with our group of ten. We then we escorted to the area where we picked out our bike and rode into the town of Versailles. We had a tour of the indoor and outdoor market and all picked out and purchased our items for our picnic lunch. We had a lovely leisurely ride through the gardens of Versailles stopping frequently to learn about the various areas. Gigi had much knowledge of the history. After our picnic lunch we toured Marie-Antoinette's hamlet and then were on our own for the tour of the palace. Thank you Gig for making this day so very special, it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to France!
