Palace of Versailles
The chateau and gardens count among the most prestigious monuments of the world’s artistic heritage, and are certainly the finest and most complete achievement of 17th century French art. Former residence of the ‘Sun King’ Louis XIV, this sumptuous royal palace was home to three of France’s most illustrious Kings for over 100 years. The guided tour of the palace includes the State Apartments of the King and Queen, Royal Chapel and Hall of Mirrors, a richly decorated gallery which boasts 357 mirrors, french bay windows and crystal chandeliers.

There’s nothing like Versailles. If you are visiting Paris, it’s a quick car ride of 45-50 minutes (or a train, if they are not on strike) for a chance to experience first hand something you will never see outside of Trump Tower. Incredibly ornate with beautiful craftsmanship. Very interesting history, although it only was actively used for a short but important period of French history. Our tour guide Anna was great, providing historical context and court gossip, which put a fun spin on the experience. Only downside is that it can be hot and crowded. Still worth the visit.

Gorgeous Versailles. Was fun seeing the castle. Very very hot during the tour. It was too long and often drawn out with our guide. Would have enjoyed an audio tour more. Lots of people. The ticket/tour not including the grounds was VERY disappointing and kind of ridiculous for the amount paid.

Very good organization of this visit to the Grands Appartements at the Palace of Versailles. The welcome from the guides was very well done. The visit was very interesting with a guide (Brazilian!) whose comments were both complete with a touch of very pleasant humor. my little girl of 10 years appreciated it very much.

Beautiful! It is best to take the guided tour to understand everything. The garden we explored alone at our own pace, we had lunch there... all spectacular. Recommended 100%!

The tour was ok, maybe a bit long. They passed out new earbuds and used a system the tour guide spoke into so he was very easy to hear and understand. The bad thing about this tour is there were 3 different tour groups with the company and even though our whole group of 15 were there, we couldn’t start the tour until everyone from all 3 groups showed up. There was so much wasted time spent standing around while we waited, then we had to wait in another area for groups to be allowed in. If you’ve always wanted to see the Palace, this was a decent tour, but the cost was high. I would suggest buying your own tickets from the Palace website and get the self-guided audio tour. That way you can skip the parts you don’t want to spend extra time on at a fraction of the cost of this tour. If you have a short time in Paris, I would suggest skipping this. It literally took about 6 hours total because it is outside the city of Paris.
