With a journey time of only 16 minutes from Vienna Airport to the city center, the City Airport Train is the fastest way to travel – without stress and traffic jams and in an environmentally friendly way. The CAT travels between Vienna International Airport and Wien-Mitte station every thirty minutes from early morning to late at night, 365 days a year. Comfortable seats, plenty of legroom, free magazines and newspapers, news reports on video screens, free high-speed Wi-Fi as well as power outlets and USB ports are included as well.

Enjoy convenient and cost-effective shared transport between Vienna International Airport (VIE) and Wien-Mitte Train Station aboard the City Airport Train. After arriving at Vienna International Airport, follow the green signs to the CAT City Airport Train. In just 16 minutes on the double-decker train, arrive at Wien Mitte - Landstraße railway station with direct connection to the underground line in Vienna (U3/U4). City Check-In Passengers can already check in their baggage with selected airlines at the City Air Terminal within the railway station Wien-Mitte and get their boarding passes. The City Air Terminal offers all the services of an international airport terminal with both manned check-in desks and self service check-in kiosks. This service is available from 24 hours until 75 minutes before departure.

1.00Absolute joke. Ticket is three times as expensive as regular traintickets. Don’t fall for the aggressive advertisement.
Need an elevator … don’t use the CAT

2.00If you need an elevator due to mobility issues, a stroller or just lots of luggage that skip the CAT from the airport. The elevator does not work and apparently has not worked for 3 months!

4.00The price is not very low but the Service is really great. However, I recommend buying the return ticket combined with that of public transport in the city for 24 or 48 or 72 hours: it really pays.

1.0027 minute wait for a train at 1.40 PM does not make this a fast or even very convenient way to get to airport. Cost at nearly €15 one way makes a taxi for two much better value.

4.00We have used the CAT train several times to go from the city to the airport; in 2024 were were unable to check our luggage at the train in the city as before, but there was no difficulty checking it immediately when we got to the airport. It is a seamlessly easy way to get to the airport and it runs regularly.

5.00We had a layover in Vienna and we were able to use the train to go into the city and back to the hotel we were in at the airport. It’s very convenient, comfortable and easy to use and to find. It’s a non-stop 16 minute ride and the train was very clean. We got our tickets when we arrived at the airport and it runs every 30 minutes with multiple runs throughout the day from early morning to late at night. It was really great to have this as an option we got the rerun ticket which was €25 per person.

1.00There Is no lift working to the platform, of you have heavy luggages you have to take them down the stairs yourself. More expencive than the normal train and it's not that frequent, of you miss one while you drag all your things down the stairs you'll have to wait 37 Min, while you see passing other 3/4 normale train to the city center. Not worthy at all, just take the normal train.
Easy to buy tickets and very quick to get into the centre of Vienna

5.00Very quick and convenient. Easy to buy tickets online. If you ride on the top deck you get better views. There are no stops, the train only goes from the central train station to the airport and back.
