Can the itinerary or food offerings change? To ensure the best experience, the route and stops may occasionally be adjusted. Food selections can also vary slightly depending on daily availability, but guests will always enjoy a delicious and authentic taste of Vienna.

Are dietary restrictions accommodated? Vegetarian and vegan guests are welcome. Due to the pastry-heavy nature of Austrian cuisine, gluten allergies are harder to accommodate.

Are children allowed on the tour? This tour is best suited for adults and older children. For that reason, it’s not recommended for children under 12.

What kind of food is included? Guests can look forward to a seasonal strudel with tea or Viennese coffee, a hearty lunch with a main course (such as schnitzel, goulash, or a vegetarian option), a warm dessert, and a glass of Austrian wine or beer. The tour also includes street food tastings like pork roast or a vegetarian alternative, and a visit to a traditional coffeehouse with a choice of tea, Viennese coffee, or hot chocolate.

How much walking is included? This tour includes a walking distance of approximately 2 km (about 1.2 miles). The walk is at a relaxed, easy pace with plenty of stops for photos, stories, and breaks. Magdalena was an excellent guide for this tour of Vienna which not only treated us to a variety of local foods, but also took us to outer neighborhoods which we would not have explored on our own. We experienced lively outdoor food markets and visited small local shops to sample classic Viennese food like Wiener schnitzel, pastries, and cheese stuffed sausages. It was a good combination of walking through neighborhoods and taking public transportation such as trains and above ground trams, which made it easier to visit different districts without exhaustion. Having a small group of 5 made for a more personal experience and gave us the opportunity to ask Magdalena about her experiences from growing up in Vienna to living and working there as an adult.

Great experience if you want the real Vienna, try food from less commercial gems and an excellent host (Wolfie) who was knowledgeable about not only food but other things to do in Vienna. I also appreciated that he accommodated to my vegetarian diet. This was arguably one of my favourite activities during my whole trip in Vienna and I packed a lot in!

This Food Tour of Vienna was superb. Maria, our guide was so personable, charming, and very knowledgeable of the food, culture and area. The smaller group tour was also great. Would recommend to anyone who wants the real Vienna experience.

A beautiful music experience! Vienna is full of music. Attended a performance by the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in the old Stock Exchange. Music, opera and ballet.

This made for a 10/10 first day in Vienna! Our guide, Maria, was knowledgeable and witty and showed us corners of the city that we wouldn’t have otherwise come across yet included the Vienna classics (like apple strudel and schnitzel!). We left with a unique and real perspective of Vienna and a much better understanding of the public transportation system LOL. Be prepared to leave this tour with a very full belly (in the best way!).

Magdalena was our tour guide. She was warm. friendly and knowledgeable. There were just three of us including Magdalena. It was a very personalized experience. Every stop was enjoyable. All of the restaurants went out of their way to provide great service and fantastic food. The tour and our guide exceeded my expectations.

Wolfie knows the places to go. I thought the food would be good, but I had no idea it could be as good as it was. There were several stops, all well paced. The places we went were places you wouldn’t even think to go to, and you wouldn’t even know they were there. I’ve never had sausage like I had on the tour and I got to try things I’ve never tried. And even things I have tried hundreds of times, like ice cream, tasted much better on this tour. I can’t recommend this highly enough and I got to know the areas around Vienna much better, and learned how to access public transportation. Now I feel comfortable going anywhere in the area. 5+ stars.
