  We (three adults) took part in the “Guided Tour of the Vienna Underworld” today – and it was simply great. A perfect combination of history, atmosphere and exciting insights into hidden places you never get to see otherwise. Our guide – a very personable student – designed the tour with a lot of commitment, knowledge and humor. You could feel that she was really passionate about the subject and conveyed historical facts with passion and sensitivity. The tour leads through old cellars, corridors and vaults where you can literally feel the time of the Second World War. This is exactly what makes it so special: You’re moving over real World War II debris – and this isn’t a party cellar or Instagram location, it’s an authentic story under your feet. The fact that there are still some old wine bottles in a former teaching beer and wine cellar – still part of a hospitality school today – fits perfectly into the picture and gives the place additional charm and historical depth. Anyone here who thinks they are in a trashed party cellar and smells smoke, as other reviews suggest, which is not even there, probably did not pay so much attention on this tour and missed the point of this tour. The route was well chosen, the pace pleasant, and the group manageable – leaving enough room for questions and conversations. Conclusion: An exciting, honest and impressive journey through time under the city. Perfect for anyone who wants to experience Vienna from a completely different angle. Highly recommended!

  An exciting insight into an unexpected world in Vienna. Guide was very nice, a little more background information and waiting until the whole group stood together would be better for the future. But definitely highly recommended! Thanks for this opportunity and idea.

  The 2-hour guided tour “Vienna Underworld” into some multi-storey basements of the Inner City gave in-depth insights into the historical and social development of Vienna and beyond. Our guide Steffi has imparted her extensive knowledge very entertaining, extremely eloquent and extremely pleasant. She was able to answer questions spontaneously and competently.

  It was a great tour with a lot of interesting, historical information! Our guide Robert let the 2 hours fly by and was able to answer all the questions reliably. With his humorous manner he had some laughs on his side. This tour is highly recommended!

  As a couple we took the tour "Vienna Underworld - an adventure with horror factor". First expectation was also to watch some of the Vienna sewers... That was not fulfilled. This tour here is about the cellars below Vienna. But the guide more than made up for my little disappointment! Competently and excitingly told you learn a lot about the cellars here. History and stories are skillfully mixed and very excitingly reproduced. Thanks to the guide! We were incredibly lucky to go through the tour with only six people. I don't want to imagine this with 20 people on the road...

  There were 2 cellars visited in Viennese townhouses Because there was probably little to see and to show, eternally long stories from the past were told. The expectations at "Wiener Unterwelt" were not met in the slightest. 5 people for over 190 € is simply far too expensive for what is offered here.

  Too bad for all the money We wanted to take a closer look at the underworld, but unfortunately let the description of the text dazzle us. Since we wanted to experience as much as possible from Vienna (we did other tours these were cheaper and more interesting and definitely worth the money) ... Conclusion: short little stories from the time. Cellar tours can certainly be made more interesting and more comprehensive / impressive, for the money.
