Travel by minibus to the spectacular World Heritage site of Halong Bay. The bay is dotted with sandy coves, grottos and 1,600limestone islands. Board a cruise the bay, exploring island caves and perhaps even enjoying a swim from Ti Top Island Beach during the warmer months. Spend a peaceful night aboard the boat beneath the night sky.
Halong - Hanoi - Train to Hue (Breakfast, Lunch)

Return by boat to Ha Long, and at approximately midday travel by bus back to Hanoi. Arrive late this afternoon, and use free time to shop or just relax.

Arrive into Hue in the morning and transfer to the hotel. Once the imperial capital of Vietnam, Hue holds the treasures of the country’s royal past.

Explore the ruins of the Forbidden Purple City, once reserved for the personal use of the Emperor and his concubines. Visit Thien Mu Pagoda, you’ll see the car of a former monk who drove to Saigon in 1963 to set himself alight to protest the poor treatment of Buddhists by the South Vietnamese regime. Finally, visit the lakeside royal tomb of Emperor Tu Duc before heading back to Hue

This morning travel by bus through coastal rice paddies and the spectacular Hai Van Pass to Hoian. Your tourguide will take you on a sightseeing walk through the Old Town and visit a handful of the city's major attractions

Hoian - Danang - Flight to Ho Chi Minh - Ho Chi Minh city half day

Today take a short early morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City,a fascinating history and is arguably Vietnam’s capital of commerce and culture. After landing, take a sightseeing bus tour around the city. Pass the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House, stopping in at the War Remnants Museum to discover some of the sobering stories of the war.
Ho Chi Minh - Mekong Delta full day tour (Lunch)

Head out on a day trip to explore the Mekong Delta. Board a boat to Ben Tre to visit a coconut candy factory and sample their sweet products. Learn about local rural life and stop to sample tropical fruits. Eat lunch at a restaurant, sampling regional specialties such as the famous Elephant Ear fish. Afterwards, paddle in sampans past water coconut trees along the Mekong. Return via bus to HCM

5.00I have just completed the June 2025 tour with Thanh as our tour guide. Thanh made it such an amazing experience with his knowledge and care he took with the group. The side tours that are included are well thought out so we could experience the culture and food which was much appreciated

5.00We had never joined a group tour before and felt some trepidation about what to expect. We need not have worried at all! Our tour leader, Hà, took us adeptly in hand, helped the group to bond and ensured that we had a wonderful time every day. He offered to take us out each eveni g for a group meal, which was one less thing to worry about. Most meals were banquet style doing it this way, so there was always something good to eat. It was a real luxury to be guided through this amazing country - visiting awe inspiring places and finding out about the people and the culture. All of the included hotels were fine, we chose the essentials tour so knew that we weren't getting fancy hotels - we were delighted with the location, staff and amenities at each of them. The tour is really well planned. The optional extra activities are all excellent - I recommend that you do them all, as they really add that extra something special to the trip. There is free water to fill up your refillable bottles on all the bus journeys, which is a life saver, it was really hot when we visited. The currency you need is Dong, in the south they advertise dual prices with US$, but Dong are best. There are ATM's everywhere to get out local currency. We also bought a local SIM card for our phones, with 4gb data a day and free local calls, we paid VND280, 000 each for these and they worked really well, with data coverage even in the middle of nowhere. Some of our group continued on to Cambodia after the Vietnam tour - we had an extra night in Ho Chi Minh City and thdn flew home with so many fantastic memories. The country, the tour and Intrepid Travel - all highly recommended!

5.00We really enjoyed our 10 day tour. The group we had were all great fun. Everyone got along. Ages were from late teens to mid 50’s. Jolie (Ngang Nguyen) our guide was fantastic. She spoke great English, was extremely patient and nothing was a problem. Our only suggestion would be (if you’re fussy) is to take a sheet and pillow case as the overnight train is very basic and the sheets are shaken and put straight back on the beds. We also found the last nights accom in Saigon to be not quite up to standard. We forfeited and booked at the Prague Hotel which is in a better area and has a pool. Otherwise, couldn’t fault it.

5.00A good way to visit several cities in just 10 days. Our guide Nam Nguyen was very efficient, helpful and had good English our group size was 16 people from UK and Australia age range 20's to retired couples. All interacted very well. Transport varied from boat, overnight sleeper train and coach. Travel light and leave room in your suitcase for the stop in HoiAn. Suits, dresses and shoes can be custom made overnight.

5.00We had a fantastic trip. There was a good mixture of activities and free time and plenty of suggestions for doing additional activities for those that wanted more. Duc our tour leader was very knowledgeable and looked after us very well. He was a fantastic tour leader who showed us a lot of the local sights and took care of everyone. We had a lot of fun together with the group. would recomnend intrepid.
