The park museum is surrounded by a zoo, with local animals, such as spider monkeys and Jaguars.

The Half-Day tour of the La Venta museum is worth doing if you're around Villahermosa. Note that "La Venta Museum Park" is in Villahermosa, not in the town of La Venta, where the Olmec statues were found. These statues were moved to Villahermosa in a newly-built park, namely "La Venta Museum Park." The tour will take you through this park, and explain the history and trivia of each Olmec statue that has been moved in there. Having a guide is very useful, especially since Olmec history is hard to find on the web or YouTube. The tour includes a visit to a local Zoo, which, to me, it's unnecessary. Skipping it could help reduce the overall cost of the tour, as well as focus more time on the archeological/cultural portion of the tour.

We had a great tour with Juan Carlos. He was very knowledgeable and had a wonderful personality. We had an awesome time on the tour at Parque La Venta and then got to see more artifacts at the museum. Definitely recommend!
