Crystal River is home to beautiful fresh water springs, a large variety of wildlife, and or course our famous manatee residents! This in-water manatee snorkel experience is EXTRA special since the 6-passenger boat is strictly dedicated to you and your party and includes a FREE photo package. ($40 value.)

Each winter between 700 and 1000 manatees migrate here seeking out our three first magnitude spring systems, each with a constant temperature of 72° to 74° F (23° C). Even in the warm summer months, Crystal River has a local population of 70-100 manatees that remain here year round. Due to efforts by many local, state and federal entities, our manatee population is thriving. We feel that an in-water swim experience is an important part of this education and conservation effort. Our team of highly trained in-water guides ensure your experience with this cherished and threatened species is handled with the utmost care and respect by encouraging passive observation.

Crystal River is the manatee capital of the world, and we are the only place where you can have the unique experience of swimming with these gentle giants in their habitat on your own PRIVATE VIP EXCURSION! Once you arrive at Salty Siren Tours the adventure begins! You will meet your in-water guide and photographer who will discuss your upcoming manatee interaction and answer any questions you may have. (All required gear, hot and cold beverages and snacks are included on the VIP excursion.) After explaining passive observation and how to properly interact in the water with our precious manatees, we will transport you to our departure location. From there you will board your immaculately clean tour vessel for the experience of a lifetime! Complimentary hot and cold beverages and snacks included. After becoming comfortable in the water, your guide will escort you to passively observe and these majestic mammals. We also take underwater photos of your trip (which are included in the price of your VIP tour) so you can share the manatee love! REFUND POLICY: 50% refund if cancellation is within 7 days of your departure. No refund if cancelled within 72 hours of departure.

Everything was perfect. Our guide Krystal was amazing, so kind and knowledgeable and made sure we had the best experience. Our captain George was so helpful and found us a perfect spot! We loved it!

The guides were knowledgeable, respectful of the wildlife, and made safety and conservation a priority. They explained how important it is to remain passive observers — letting the manatees choose the interaction. That respect made the experience feel even more meaningful. The drome pictures were perfect. I highly recommend going through Salty Sirens tours.

Don’t miss a manatee tour with salty siren, they were so incredibly fantastic. The pictures they provided were amazing, our guide was wonderful, we saw manatees and spent a lot of time in the water. We never felt rushed or pressured. What an amazing experience, I just can’t say enough.

Captain Ed, Kim and Aubrie pulled out all the stops to make my bucket list absolutely amazing! To make sure my special needs son was able to get on a boat and watch the manatees was an experience we will never forget! The boat is heated and we were served hot cocoa after our swim. The underwater pictures and the drone videos were top notch! We could feel their heart in all they did for us to passively observe these gentle giants. We had the added treat of a certain manatee recognizing Aubrie and showing off for her by rolling in front of her. He also came up to her as if to say “see ya later pretty lady” as we were swimming back to the boat❤️

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience! There were hundreds of manatees in the springs. Captain Ed, Aubrie, and Captain Kim are simply the BEST! I took my nine-year-old and seven year-old grandchildren for the very first time. Our day was absolutely incredible. My heart is so happy! Salty Siren Tours & Charters is top notch!

Captain Ed and our guide Aubrey were AMAZING!!! Professional, engaging, and knowledgeable are just a few of the adjectives I would use to describe our experience with them today. Our daughter is very timid and shy by nature and they ensured she was comfortable at all times. Aubrey is the absolute sweetest woman and she went out of her way to make sure the kids had a great time. At the very busiest time or year Captain Ed navigated us past all the kayakers, boat tours, and hundreds of other groups to a private little area literally overflowing with these gentle giants that we had exclusively to ourselves. Our children will NEVER forget the first day of 2026!!!!

Salty Siren was an unbelievable experience. I had swam with manatees before with another company in another location but this was so much better. Kim was a great guide who was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and extremely helpful to everyone. She has a passion for the animals and for making a great experience. I can’t recommended this company and this experience enough. This is a must do. We even left with some of her artwork. Do yourself a favor and book now.

Did a manatee tour with Captain Ed and Tyler of Salty Siren Tours and loved every minute of it! Both of these guys were very informative and made the whole experience enjoyable with their funny stories and knowledge of the area and especially of the manatee. Also, Captain Kim in their shop couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating to say of our needs. Highly recommend Salty Siren if you want to swim with the manatee. Manatee sighting guaranteed!

It was excellent, even though the water wasn’t very clear. We saw a few manatees, including a baby with its mother. I always felt comfortable and safe. Thank you Tyler, you did a great job!
