Paia

No trip to Maui is complete without a trip to Paia, Maui’s coolest little town. Located on the North Shore, Paia started as a plantation town with the opening of Paia Store in 1896 to serve the needs of the multi-cultural plantation workers of Paia Sugar Mill.

Ke'anae Arboretum

Located adjacent to the Pi'ina'au Stream, the Ke'anae Arboretum features terraces built by ancient Hawaiians for cultivating taro, which was a staple of their diet. A paved walkway measuring 0.6 miles runs through the arboretum, showcasing a diverse array of timber, fruit, and ornamental trees from different tropical regions of the world, many of which are labeled with nameplates. With over 150 types of tropical plants, including taro, the arboretum is an excellent spot to observe native flowers and marvel at the vibrant bark of rainbow eucalyptus trees.

    We had such a great time with Luke and KOBI. They are absolutely great entertainment and knew so much about the road to Hannah. They were exceptionally great at making it as personalized as possible for us since we had limited physical mobility. We really loved this adventure.

    Our family had a great time with Charlie! We saw the things we wanted to see as well as a couple off the beaten path items. He was fun and informative and made this trip really relaxing for us. We were nervous about making the drive ourselves and this was the perfect alternative!

    This was such a great way to see the Road to Hana. Koby was the best! He has an encyclopedia like knowledge of Hawaiian history, culture, and local customs. He answered our questions, took us to some places off the beaten path and introduced us to some locals. If we had done this on our own, we would’ve seen a lot of pretty scenery, but would’ve not experienced Maui the way it should be experienced. Thanks Koby!
