Paia

No trip to Maui is complete without a trip to Paia, Maui’s coolest little town. Located on the North Shore, Paia started as a plantation town with the opening of Paia Store in 1896 to serve the needs of the multi-cultural plantation workers of Paia Sugar Mill.

Ke'anae Arboretum

Located adjacent to the Pi'ina'au Stream, the Ke'anae Arboretum features terraces built by ancient Hawaiians for cultivating taro, which was a staple of their diet. A paved walkway measuring 0.6 miles runs through the arboretum, showcasing a diverse array of timber, fruit, and ornamental trees from different tropical regions of the world, many of which are labeled with nameplates. With over 150 types of tropical plants, including taro, the arboretum is an excellent spot to observe native flowers and marvel at the vibrant bark of rainbow eucalyptus trees.

    It was an amazing experience. Donovan was so knowledgeable about the whole island. He took us the back road and we completed the full loop. This is the tour you should book and you need to ask for Donovan. He made the whole experience incredible.

    My family and I were so glad that we booked this tour. Shayne was absolutely amazing both as a guide and as an individual. He help us maximize our short time on the island to see and do as much as possible. I would highly recommend. Really appreciated making this a great experience.

    We had an amazing trip and tour with our guide Shayne! It was awesome to let someone else drive and have him take us to different spots on the Road to Hana including one or two that were more hidden gems/personal favorites. He made sure to customize it as much as he could despite my wife and I not doing much research prior to the tour. He also made sure we were comfortable and had a great time throughout the tour. I would definitely recommend the tour and if you have specific spots you want to see along the way, just let them know!

    Kobe was an amazing tour guide! He was full of interesting information and details we never would have known. He made the whole trip relaxed, safe, and enjoyable. The stops were perfect, and he helped us decide whether to visit a site on the way out or the return trip to really maximize our time. We had such a wonderful day!
