Paia

No trip to Maui is complete without a trip to Paia, Maui’s coolest little town. Located on the North Shore, Paia started as a plantation town with the opening of Paia Store in 1896 to serve the needs of the multi-cultural plantation workers of Paia Sugar Mill.

Ke'anae Arboretum

Located adjacent to the Pi'ina'au Stream, the Ke'anae Arboretum features terraces built by ancient Hawaiians for cultivating taro, which was a staple of their diet. A paved walkway measuring 0.6 miles runs through the arboretum, showcasing a diverse array of timber, fruit, and ornamental trees from different tropical regions of the world, many of which are labeled with nameplates. With over 150 types of tropical plants, including taro, the arboretum is an excellent spot to observe native flowers and marvel at the vibrant bark of rainbow eucalyptus trees.

    My wife and I had a very enjoyable and personalized tour of the entire Road to Hana with our tour guide, Spencer. Communication with both Skyline and Spencer was prompt and clear. After picking us up Spencer took a few moments to get a sense of what we were interested in seeing/doing during the tour. He suggested an itinerary and treated us to an informative and fun tour of the entire perimeter of Haleakala on our way to Hana. We stopped a few waterfalls, had lunch at Hana Farms, and finished with Shave Ice in Pa’ia. I have some mobility issues which Spencer took into consideration when establishing our tour route. He was also willing to assist me getting my gear in/out of the roomy and comfortable SUV. It was a great day and worth the price.

    We had such a great time with Luke and KOBI. They are absolutely great entertainment and knew so much about the road to Hannah. They were exceptionally great at making it as personalized as possible for us since we had limited physical mobility. We really loved this adventure.
