Please note that this tour is only available up to 60 days in advance, due to the nature of the tickets. We recommend booking early to avoid disappointment!

Saint Peter’s Basilica is subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.

On Wednesdays, due to the Papal Audiences, access to St Peter's Basilica is not possible until 1pm

* Please note all participant names and date of birth are required at the time of booking in order to join this tour. If we do not receive this information, we will cancel the booking. Every customer is required to carry a valid ID that matches the name on the ticket, or an entry will be refused. Name changes are not permitted once the booking is confirmed.

* Please be advised that this tour option is non-refundable, with no cancellations or date changes allowed due to pre-purchased tickets. It is mandatory to bring a valid ID or Passport for security checks, and entry will not be granted without proper documentation.

A dress code is required to enter to the museums. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women.

Horrible Vatican experience

Unfortunately the pope passed just before our trip was planned for. Though our guide was very nice the place was packed and the pace was too quick, we didn’t have time to enjoy the trip and my husband got separated from the crowd and our guide lost me as well! I could hear her telling everyone that we must have left the group. No we didn’t leave the group she lost them left us! I couldn’t see her and she didn’t even try to look for me! We missed the basilica all together and I was so frustrated with the pace she kept that I was in tears multiple times. This is the jubilee year and I asked her about the sacred door that was opened for the first time in 25 years, I was told I could go in there if I wanted but that was when she just left me behind! VERY DISAPPOINTED! Not her fault that the Sistine chapel was closed but she could have been more forthcoming about the pace of the tour…

The breakfast was amazing! We enjoyed the break during the tour. The servers were attentive and kind. Our guide was very friendly and polite. She was informative and would have liked to give us more time in rooms. The Vatican was very crowed, really too crowded. Some areas we could hardly move. Our guide made sure that our group stayed together. Do to the massive crowd, we did not get to go to St. Peter’s Basilica. We were disappointed that the Sistine Chapel was also closed. Overall good experience.

This tour deserves 5 stars, however, all the stars aligned against our wonderful guide. We were able to see the Vatican Museums, but unable to see Saint Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel. The Sistine Chapel was closed due to the conclave and Saint Peter’s Basilica was experiencing long lines, so they closed for an hour. Unfortunately, waiting in the heat and sun for multiple hours was not an option. Again, not the tours fault, it was a very busy time in Rome.

In my opinion, the description of this needs honestly updated. You’re not beating any crowds and it’s certainly not intimate. Breakfast is the same area that anyone can eat and you do not get to select what you want. Our guide, while pleasant, didn’t seem to know what was going on. We felt very rushed. She even scolded someone in our group for touching something as she had her own hands on it. The price was not worth the experience.

Our guide was wonderful. She kept the group together and was very knowledgeable. We were there the day before Easter and it was very very crowded so keeping us together was quite a task!
