Dive into the 18th century in Albi, guided by Madame de Lapérouse, wife of the famous Albigensian navigator.

Madame de Lapérouse has been very bored in Albi since her husband was sent to explore the Pacific. She will be happy to stroll with you to help you discover her city. Along the alleys, she will tell you about her meeting with her husband, the handsome navigator Jean-François de Galaup, dit Lapérouse, while telling you about life in Albi under Louis XVI up to the gossip of the great families of the city.

You will stroll to the gardens of Berbie, passing by the street of his house and the place of Vigan.

For the immersion to be as complete as possible, the visit will be conducted in period costume.

1h30 visit for adults and children over 8 years old.

Our walk will start on rue Mariès before continuing through the narrow streets of the historic center to place du Vigan, the courtyard of the town hall and the Lapérouse house.

We were transported by the story beautifully told by Madame Eléonore de Lapérouse to a time that has been better understood. The visit offered us the chance to have many details that we would not have had the opportunity to discover during a simple walk. The lecturer, aided by her beautiful costume, has brought to our present the elegance and scientific spirit filled with curiosity for the discovery of new worlds of the Enlightenment in joy and good humor. Many thanks to the organizers and we look forward to more visits!

Very nice discovery of Albi guided by Mme Lapérouse. From the introductions, we get in the mood. Between costume, speaking, anecdotes, postures, we find ourselves immersed in the Age of Enlightenment. We loved this visit which was punctuated between the stories of Mme Lapérouse, her husband, their meeting and history. It spices up and keeps us captivated. The city is very beautiful and it was a very good idea to introduce us to Lapérouse history to see it from a different angle. A big bravo to our Guide for his costume, enthusiasm, theatricality, expressions and smile. This makes us want to test more Epoktour visits! Great concept to energize traditional tours and give some context and life behind the events of the story.

The Speaker Guide was just perfect!! We had already visited the streets of Albi last year with a Guide but this form of visit using the common thread of Captain Lape(y)rouse with his wife as Guide is an excellent idea especially since the Speaker Guide mastered form and substance! This will be one of the highlights of our summer visits We hope that back in Lyon we will find this type of visit to share it with our friends visiting us.
