This tour will allow you to explore the beauty of the southwest of the island in half a day. You will climb the volcano, whose crater is naturally impressive.

Then we will visit the ceremonial town, on the edge of the volcano, where the Birdman competitions were held, which decided the leader of Rapa Nui.

This huge crater is a true sanctuary of nature. Formerly it served as the most important source of drinking water on the island, since its lake is made up of 100% rainwater.

Superb trip with a wonderful guide who both had a great knowledge of Orongo, the crater and Vinapu but was able to get it across really well. Great sights and the time flew by.

Enjoyed the half day tour. Learned a lot about the beginnings of the Rapa Nui, their culture and how they lived. Very informative and friendly guide. Driver did great!

We had three nights at Rapa Nui and all of our travel arrangements and tours were organised through this company. We had four tours … three half days and one full day that took us to the main locations on the island. Our four guides … Maitu, Simon, Nico and Mara were all fantastic. Knowledgable, friendly and took wonderful care of us. Our drivers were also excellent. We appreciated the clear communication regarding pick up time, how the day/tour would happen. At no point were we left feeling unsure about our stay. I highly recommend this tour group. We particularly enjoyed our hike to the top of Teravaka on our last morning … a wonderful opportunity to see the island with 360° views.

Incredible experience with Maururu travel! We had the guide Nico and he is excellent. Very friendly, respectful, he answered all our questions and concerns and made us feel at home at all times. We visited wonderful places. 100% recommended experience 🤗
