The Volcano Express is one of the best things to do in Reykjavik. A cinematic volcano simulator inside the iconic Harpa Concert Hall.
Strap in for an immersive indoor experience with dynamic motion seating, real heat effects, and stunning footage of Iceland's volcanic eruptions — as close as you'll ever get to an active eruption.
In addition to the exciting 10-minute ride, every ticket includes a pre-show area: Live eruption footage, four volcanic short films, an interactive eruption map, a live earthquake monitor, and the Instacrater photo experience — adding about 30 minutes of discovery before the main show.

5.00Absolutely brilliant!! The technical quality was great and I loved that the experience was so much more than just a film. You can feel the hot and the cold and you are (securely) in your seat. This I would do again.

5.00This film is extraordinary! If you want to see some amazing real-life Icelandic volcano footage, here it is. The show features some great physical special effects in addition to the visuals. You will be amazed that no CGI was used to show what the recent volcanic eruption near Reykjavik looked like. Don’t miss this!

5.00Definitely worth a visit when in Reykavik. Not too expensive and only lasts about 10 minutes (although there are plenty of interactive displays before entering the simulator) but way, way better than I thought it would be. Just hold on to your hats…..
