Discover the dramatic scenery and natural rock formations of Wadi Rum Protected Area!

This 4x4 tour takes you through the main valley of Wadi Rum's Protected Area, making stops at the important landmarks and panoramic viewpoints. You have time at each stop to explore on foot, scramble up the rocks, walk to viewpoints and take photographs.

Some tour highlights include visiting Khazali Canyon to see ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions, and taking a self-guided walk through Abu Khashaba Canyon for 20-30 minutes. You'll also get to see sights of the desert such as Ain Abu Aineh (Lawrence Spring), the Red Sand Dune, Little Rock Bridge and Um Fruth Rock Bridge.

Wadi Rum Protected Area

Admire the breathtaking scenery of Wadi Rum Protected Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with red sand valleys, canyons and dramatic rock formations. As you set off from Wadi Rum Rest House, you’ll get your first look at Wadi Rum’s expansive landscape. The first stop is Ain Abu Aineh (Lawrence Spring), where you can take a short walk to the natural spring (optional) and see ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions on a nearby rock. The next stop is the Red Sand Dune, where you can climb to the top for spectacular views (optional). You'll visit Khazali Canyon, a narrow canyon famous for its ancient petroglyphs and inscriptions. The next stop is the Little Rock Bridge, a dramatic rock formation with incredible valley views. Arriving at Abu Khashaba Canyon, you can take a beautiful self-guided walk through the canyon, and your guide will meet you on the other side (optional). The final stop is Um Fruth Rock Bridge, which rises 15 m from the valley floor.

Ali was our guide for the half day desert tour and it was truly incredible! Such a great guide with good knowledge and a calm friendly vibe. He even took us to meet his family deep in the desert for Arabic coffee. Highly recommend this tour. Very professional and we loved every minute of it.

Essential and very cool activity in the Wadi Rum desert. We traveled as 2 families with a total of 4 adults and 3 children. Regarding the activity: it was punctual, drivers were professional, respectful, and attentive to the group at all times. Flexibility at every stop. They give you water and tea at all times. The sunset tour is an experience. A memory for life. Thank you

Our wonderful experience we chose to watch the sunset in the Wadi Rum desert and a show between nature, colors and perfect weather, our guide Khaled Salem Al Zalabieh super attentive prepared us an amazing tea. They were 2 families with children aged 4-5 and loved it. Really recommended 100% the kids enjoyed it.

Our guide Attalah was very professional, kind , very attentive especially to our son Daniel. He showed us all beautiful sites of Wadi rum and we also experienced amazing sunset and Iftar with prayer lead by Attalah , such an incredible experience, would definitely repeat it soon ! Mia

Having a nice tea and conversation with Khaled and learning about his life and the area. Then hiked up to Lawrence spring, then we rode camels to the sand dunes and explored caves, really amazing trip filled with the best scenery!

Desert Eyes is a first class outfit. Khalid arranged a full day private tour of Wadi Rum with taxi pick up and drop off in Aqaba for us. All the arrangements worked perfectly - taxis were on time (even though we stayed out later than originally planned) and the desert tour was excellent. Our guide was Abdullah, accomapnied by his son Hamza. Abdullah was charming, hospitable and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. We stayed out to see the stars come out, after a peaceful sunset, sitting round a desert fire. Lovely! Highly recommended.
