Our tour takes a unique approach to tours in St. Augustine. We limit our groups smaller to create a more personal experience. Our certified guides offer the most experienced and entertaining historical narrative of the city of St. Augustine, locations of historic events and the citizens who helped create and maintain the oldest city in the nation.
We will cover the founding of the city, the first Spanish period (1565-1763), the British Period (1763-1784), the second Spanish period (1784-1821), the American territorial period (1821-1845), and the Flagler Era (Gilded Age, 1884-1913).
This is a walking tour which covers a 1.7 mile route over the 90 minutes of the experience. It takes place during the day in Florida, so plan accordingly.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, sunscreen and maybe an umbrella as well. There will be restrooms available at the beginning, end, and at the midway point as well.
This is the perfect tour for the history enthusiast!

I learned more on this tour than I could have in a class or reading books. So informative and FUN. The bonus is an easy walk that is great exercise. This is a must do in St. Augustine!

If you have St. Augustine in your sights for travel anytime soon, I have a tip. Checkout Spyglass Travel to set a reservation and jump on a tour that is surprisingly rich in dramatic and inspiring history, plus lots of entertaining sidebar facts & commentary. My wife and I had never been to St. Augustine, and we had reserved our spots in the Spyglass tour for the day we arrived. We didn’t know that the tour would run about 40 minutes over the listed & scheduled time of 90 minutes! But—surprise!—we were happy it ran overtime because we were learning so much and having such a good time. Our tour guide was Kevin Rose, a very experienced and engaging docent with a good sense of humor and loads of interesting (mostly historical) anecdotes. He “warned” when the tour started that his whole presentation often runs over 2 hours. But he told everyone that we were free to leave the tour at any old time. PS – If you didn’t already know, the history of St. Augustine is incredible, and its historical treasure goes back to the early 1600s. Fascinating. Call Spyglass Travel! [The tour for us was $25 per person, and very worth it. However--I'm not sure if that was a senior discounted rate or not.]

It is a non-strenuous walk and an interesting review of the colonial and gilded ages including their successes and less glamorous events. Our tour lasted 2 hours but the time flew by. Thanks, Kevin, for a fascinating tour. P. S. Wear a hat and sunscreen!

Kevin is very knowledgeable about the St Augustine and surrounding area. He politely answered ALL questions from the group. One thing to note was our group was slightly over the maximum number of people, and this seemed to affect the number of questions that were asked and thus the time spent at each stop along the tour. A recommendation is to take this tour your first day, so you have some time to go back and visit the locations mentioned. Overall, the walking tour was just as advertised.

Very informative and enjoyable tour. Kevin was a wonderful host and guide. Would definitely recommend! Wear good walking shoes. There are a few places to sit during the tour.

Kevin provided a great tour and was great at answering diverse questions. It seemed that everyone enjoyed the tour and we definitely recommend this tour as a starting place when getting familiar with St. Augustine. Kevin was enthusiastic, funny and kept things moving at a good pace. Kevin covers all the major areas of interest and answers many questions before they arise. As others have noted, and as Kevin himself acknowledged, his 90 minute tour took over two hours - so keep that in mind. The walking is easy, and there are a few spots where you can sit and listen, but it's a walking tour, so there is a lot of standing! We took the 11:00 tour and it was well worth the price paid!

It was just my wife and I and we thought that may make it awkward. But Kevin was awesome. So knowledgeable! We learned so much and really enjoyed our tour.
