Discover the Old Town of Colonia del Sacramento with an official guide who will tell you the history and curiosities of each place, in addition to recommending the best restaurants and activities in the city and the area. We will walk through the Field Gate, "La Calle de los Suspiros", the lighthouse, the yacht harbor and the church, among others.
The walking tour lasts approximately 1:30 hours and is done in small groups. It starts at "La Fuente Portuguesa", next to the church "Basílica del Santísimo Sacramento", and follows a circular route through the Old Town, ending at the starting point.
Colonia del Sacramento is a picturesque and welcoming city, a must-see when visiting Uruguay or Buenos Aires. It can be seen in just one day, but it is recommended to spend a night to enjoy one of the best sunsets in Uruguay and walk through the Old town under the warm light of the typical lanterns from Colonia.

4.00Great way to get to know the town. The town is not too big, essentially everything is in 1 block, so very low physical activity. Place is very easy to find, after getting off the ferry from Buenos Aires, there are tourist information guides at the ferry terminal that help direct you to the city center. It would be helpful to have some visual guides to help with the tour as some of the history/people's names can be hard to follow.

5.00Idoia leads a great tour in English around the quaint town of Colonia. She worked well with our group of 8 and shared history and culture of the town and Uruguay in a friendly manner. Highly recommend this 90 minute tour. It perfectly augmented our 4.5 hours in Colonia as a day trip from Buenos Aires.
